The 2009 Digital TV Switch, Could Be A Real B*tch For The Poor And The Elderly! How You Can Help....

by Jeff Greene Online Marketing Specialist/Consultant

As most of you here at Apsense already know, in February of 2009, There will be a nationwide switchover from analogue telivision broadcasting, to totally digital broadcasting by all TV networks...

Most of the population, of course, simply isn't ready for this switchover, and some people simply do not understand what this will mean for themselves, and their families in the coming future...  The loss of analogue TV signals will mean that hundreds of thousands of citizens, particularly the poor and the elderly, will not be able to recieve TV signals on their un-adapted TV sets. Those who have cable TV will not have to worry about this, as their companies will supply the needed adaptations, as a part of their service plans and contacts...

Where does that leave the poor and the elderly? Well, the Gov't announced plans to provide two $40.00 coupons for each household that will need a converter box for their old sets...

These boxes will go on sale at the big shops for about $40.00 to $70.00-- I have an idea that the price of digital-ready TV's may drop, but I'm not sure... As with everything else, the Market will determine how this demand will be met.

For those of us who have such unprepared folks in our families or communities, this is now the time to help them get prepared for a huge, fundemental change in our culture and lifestyles.

Oddly, most of us who are 'Net savvy, already have the skills to be of great service to those who will need help to make a smooth transition into the new TV era...

We are used to hooking up (No pun intended), wiring and setting up stuff, programming peripherals (Except for that damn VCR?), that we can do the same for our fellow brothers and sisters with a relative ease, and at less cost than a "Techno-Geek" service is sure to cost.

There are companies that are licking their chops at the prospect of going after the dollars of the poor and unprepared...

We Internet citizens can bring enlightenment to these hapless folk, with our Tech-skills, our articles, and our natural desire to solve problems for each other... Yes, I'm throwing praises at you... And with good very reasons... Because amongst the active members in the Apsense community, those praises are well deserved! :)

So here is some Digital Fun for you( Mario Poker Might Take A Moment To Load, But It's Worth It!), and please let me know how you feel about the switch-over and what your plans are to help those folks who will need it...  The Internet community and it's Social Network, deserves to recieve more credit for what it's Good Folks do, rather than the skeevey attention it seems to always get when some people drop their pants on video sites! LOL! :)

Here's some great free online MOVIES for you fine folks to enjoy, too! :)

They don't think of the possibility of the poor and elderly becoming marginalized by this change... Because this is one of the many changes being made in the nation's culture, so that the poor, elderly and ill folks, can be made more "invisible" than they already are to the gov't and big business...

Strangely, DTV might be a really big boon to the Internet Business Community in many ways... I just wanted to remind you wonderful folks to 'Pay- It-Forward' and help someone get through this, and maybe even make your own Life better in the process...

This is one of the giant steps towards a world that is surely going to resemble a curious mix between those that are portrayed in movies like "The Matrix" and "The Minority Report"...

Imagine having media that can actually watch YOU, and track YOU... and your Life... and make YOU pay for it all...
