Deciduous hardwood trees such as ironwood, beech, maple are some of the ideal choices for this purpose. It is a wise idea to avoid fruit trees and pine. You should also not use those kinds of wood which are filled with lichen. 

 

9. Utilization of spawn

 

The substance that is inoculated with thread-like mycelium is referred to as spawn. Winter is the best season to shop for the spawn.
