This is a subject that l truly enjoy, it gives us the ability to do and think the way we where when we had no boundaries and very young.  We had that ability to, Dream,  think of what we wanted to become in life, we could do anything that we though about in our minds.  We didn't know better we just knew if we wanted something all we had to do was think about it and it would happen.  Then we got older and wiser and knew that could not possibility happen to me, why do our minds think that way, limiting our ability to grow, dream and become who we wanted to become as a young child.

Think about the things you though about when you where 5 years old, 10 years old, then as a teenager, a young adult and know how do you think about what you dream about.  It becomes harder to be a dreamer and have goals we are all to busy and forget that if we condition our minds we can achieve our goals and make them become reality.  There are so many books on this subject,  Tapes, CD's, DVD's and all kinds of good information on how we can condition our mind so we can once again have the ability to visualization are dreams and make them become reality and they will if you really want it to happen.

5 Steps In Helping You Get Started

1-Put it on paper: It don't matter how lofty your goals seem, just write them down.  Be sure to set goals that add balance to your life.  Set goals for every area of your life.......spiritual, marriage, family, financial, career, health, educational, and recreational goals.  Only set goals that excite you.  You'll need the fuel of enthusiasm to propel you toward your target.

2-Prioritize: What do you want to tackle first?  Put your goals in numerical order, from your first priority to the last.

3-chunk it down:  Break down each goal into bite-size pieces.  What do you need to DO to achieve your outcome?  Be specific..

4- Start the clock: Set deadlines for your main goals and also for the incremental pieces you identified in step three.  A goal without a deadline is just wishful thinking.

5-Take auction: This is the most important component of goal achievement.  You must DO something everyday that moves you closer to your goals.  Remember, desire is no substitute for auction.  Only actions produce results.

When you think about your goals it's like paying off a 20 year mortgage.  The first few years you pay so little towards the principal it seems like it is going take thousands of years to reach the end.   But in the end it goes by quickly.  At first it will seem like you are barely making any progress.  Just persevere and you will accomplish your goals.

Hope you enjoy these few steps to helping you become the person who you believe you can be.

All The Best,

Hi Joseph,

I agree with you.

Anyone who isn't dreaming of something to accomplish and then working to make it real isn't really living life to its fullest.

I went through a time when I was just existing day to day. When I realized what I was doing, I took action to make changes.

I created a website at http://AYearFromNow.com with the theme of Act On Your Dream. I haven't done as much as I want at that site, and I would welcome any comments or suggestions you might care to offer.

I have a huge dream now, and - as you say - it starts slowly at first, but one moves forward by taking it step at a time. I have a website about my dream and I started a group here to see if I can find others who want to share a part of it.

I look forward to reading more of your blogs. I think we're on the same wavelength.

Act on your dream!

JD

Thank you John,

This is a very simple version of starting out with goal setting. As we all know there a lot of great books, and information we can obtain but keeping it simple is easy to do and starting is the hardest thing to do.

The greatest sloggan is what Nike says..."JUST DO IT"....

how simple is that......thanks for your positive feed back, l do appreciate it... I would love to hear from any other member who has a saying that is "GREAT MOTIVATER">>>>>>>>>>

I do agree with you on this. The first step to a successful setup, is setting your priorities. The best thing to do is to set goals that are easily obtainable. The last thing you want to do is set a goal too high, then not make it and get discouraged. Starting with small goals, and then when you reach it setting a new one. Seems to do the trick for me.
