Want To Improve Your Website Sales?

by mala

Everyone who has done any online marketing knows that the lifeblood
of their business is traffic to their website. The more visitors they can
get, the more sales they make, or so the thought goes. However, that
doesn't always hold true. While there is no magic way of getting a huge
increase in traffic to your website overnight, there are some ways you
can 'tweak' your sites to improve sales without the need to get more
visitors.

If you are not getting sales with the current volume of visitors, you
can't expect a massive increase of 'lookers' to make any real differences.
So, actually it isn't going to follow that sales will increase the same
percentage as the increase of visitors. In other words, if you can't make
one sale per 1,000 visitors, then you most likely won't even with 10,000
visitors.

Try these 3 small little 'tricks' on your site, and see if you don't get
more sales by the same amount of visitors as you have been getting.
Staying with what isn't working, only keeps you where you are.

The first method is to add in your personal touch in your sales message.
Nobody likes to be sold to by a total stranger, but many people will buy
what their closest friends recommend to them. If you can convince your
visitors that you are a personal friend who has their best interest at
heart, they will be more convinced to buy your products. Speak as to
an individual in your sales letters, not the whole world. Make them feel
as though you are standing right in front of them, talking only to them.
If you can create that personal bond, they will be more apt to buy from
you and just as important, tell their friends about you.

The second method is to publish testimonials and comments from your
customers. A good idea would be to publish both good and bad comments;
that way prospects will be really convinced that these testimonials are
real. Of course, always do use real testimonials, never fake them, it
wouldn't take much reading for people to see a pattern, and realize the
same person wrote each one. We all speak in a certain way, just like
when we walk, ever have someone recognize you from behind you and
call out your name? When prospects see testimonials on your website,
they will have the confidence to buy from you because human beings
follow the herd mentality; when others have bought and proven it
authentic, they will jump on the bandwagon and also buy.

Use visual representations for the problems and solutions that your
product offers. Not everyone will read your text copy from beginning to
end, but most people will pay attention to images on your website. Use
a simple graph representing increased sales from using your product, or
use numbers to show increases in subscribers or the more visitors you
have, any type of an image will help. Doesn't have to be fancy, and I'd
stay away from those re-written so called copies of sales receipts that
nobody looks at or believes, but a simple pie chart or bar graph will
do. You want to be convincing, not bragging with false claims.

Another use of images would be your products compared to others by
showing a table of 'included components', such as special features and
compatibilities. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Offer quality bonuses to accompany the product. When you offer bonuses
that complement your product, your prospects will feel it's a very good
deal and it would be stupid to miss it. Be sure to state the monetary
value of your bonuses so that people will be even more compelled to
grab your good bargain.

Here, as the last tip and one you probably never thought of, is ASK for
the sale! Many people tease their prospects with the benefits of their
product, sell to them with stories of how it has solved many of their
problems and even offered killer bonuses, but forget to ask for the
important thing, the sale. Give clear instructions on how to buy your
product. Another great use for images! But be sure they can find your
purchase link, how they are going to purchase, and what to expect
after they do. The simpler but more detailed the instructions you can
present this, the more at ease your customer will be and the more likely
they will be to buy. Don't just use a bare link that says "buy here",
but use a statement like you mean it i.e. "click the button to buy now!"

Till next post, have a great day!
