Religiously Speaking
Religiously Speaking...
I have often pondered if there is a true benefit to wearing religion on your sleeve when writing online for the purpose of marketing.
I can’t think of any fortune 500 companies that use God in their advertising unless of course you look into their charitable contributions. Hollywood uses their fair share of religion or lack of it for publicity.
Are you somehow more apt to buy from someone who thanks God or do you sense there is some ulterior motive behind their devotion?
Can a person give thanks in there signature line without people thinking they have gone too far?

So I guess that you all use God in your advertising? That is what the subject is about. Does advertising God in your subject appeal to the non-beleiver? Of could an honesy ad without God would appeal to them more? Unless you are trying to promote a Christian business only and mostly to Christians, it does not matter if God is mentioned in the ad or not. You have to know who you are marketing and what purpose does it serve. It's not a question or whether i am a believer or not doing business. So

I cannot help but ponder on why a simple statement regarding religion, turned so quickly into comments concerning Christianity.
Surely this can't be bias?

"I have often pondered if there is a true benefit to wearing religion on your sleeve when writing online for the purpose of marketing." As a proud child of God, I'm concerned with your use of "wearing relgion on your sleeve", I think I know what you mean, however I think this expression is used as "not heart felt". As a believer, I'm concerned for the unbeliever, I'm senseitive to Gods will in my life and I don't feel that this is "wearing it on my sleeve." My words, my actions are my testimo

Believe me, I never censor my beliefs. It comes out often more times then not. I try to not stay too focused on it but when I see a Godly principle in effect (hope I am using this word correctly) then I expound on it. I just do not like to make people feel that I am just using it to have them say, "hmm, he's a Christian, I should do business wiht him." In fact, what I do is try to convince people to not join me in business.
The reason, I want them to really think about their decision before

I think if you're genuine, then it can't hurt. Censoring your beliefs because you think it'll hurt sales isn't being honest with your customers. You'll build better relationships by being who you are, openly.

I can see where you come from, some might use the "Christian" title to win over the Christians as a ploy to build their business. However there are a few that may do it to keep themselves of check. A way of keeping the focus off of themselves and the self-success and realizing that God is the reason for their success. I can't speak for fortune 500 companies because I really do not know if they really beleive in God. Many of them choose not to use God because they will offend somebody who do not
