BI Analyst Job in Singapore - Base Camp IT Employment

What's on offer * Job Type: Perm * Salary: Base x 12 + AWS + VB * Location: Singapore (Central) Primary Purpose * As a BI Analyst in our Global Data & Analytics team, your primary responsibility is to bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technological solutions, working closely with the Data Engineers. * You will utilize Microsoft Power BI and work with external consultants to transform these requirements into clear, actionable insights through sophisticated reports and dashboards. * Your work will play a pivotal role in driving business decisions by providing transparency and actionable data. * Your contributions are critical to enabling the organization to leverage data effectively, directly influencing strategic planning and operational improvements. * Through your expertise in BI analysis, you ensure that data-driven decision-making processes are robust, clear, and result in measurable business outcomes. Key Accountabilities * Business Requirement Analysis: Regularly interact with Product Owners to define and refine key business questions, then transform these into comprehensive data and analytics requirements. * Solution Design and Development: Utilize Power BI to design, develop, and maintain impactful reports and dashboards that encapsulate business metrics in a clear and digestible manner, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions. * Consultant Coordination: Work closely with external consultants, steering their efforts and reviewing their work to ensure the BI solutions developed meet our high standards of practicality, reliability, and alignment with business objectives. * Quality Assurance and UAT: Conduct thorough testing and validation of BI tools and systems to ensure the highest levels of consistency, efficiency, and accuracy. Lead and support User Acceptance Testing to confirm that the developed solutions meet or exceed the business requirements and user expectations. * Training and Support: Drive the ongoing training and development sessions for end-users, enhancing their understanding and effective utilization of new reports and dashboards. Provide continuous support and maintenance of BI solutions, improving functionality and user experience as business needs evolve. * Technical Specification Development: Liaise with Product Owners to capture detailed business needs, translating them into technical specifications including new fields, measures, dimensions, and facts required for comprehensive analytics. Inherent Requirements * Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and Japanese at a business negotiation level is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in both languages. Multilingual capabilities (German, French, Japanese or Chinese) are advantageous. * Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with a strong foundation in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and data visualization. * Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with BI tools, particularly Microsoft Power BI. Proficient in data warehousing and SQL. Capable of handling complex data modeling tasks. * Experience: Proven track record as a BI Analyst, demonstrating the ability to translate business requirements into non-technical terms and develop data models that provide meaningful insights. * Business Process knowledge: Strong experience and knowledge of business processes. Ability to orient and weigh in on solution considering data requirements, best practices, business process needs and data sourcing. Experience in high technology, life science or industrial manufacturing processes is an asset. * Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to clearly convey complex data insights and technical details to non-technical stakeholders. * Additional Skills: Business requirements management expertise.
