Be willing to put someone else's needs and wants about your own.

Participate in the forum the right way.
For example: This is a blog community. Isn't it? So why are people making posts that have nothing to them exept to a link in another blog forum. That doesn't make any sense.
Another example: I followed a link to a site that's supposed to target traffic. I went to the "health" section and then the pharmacy sub-section and found an ad for a biz op. Hello, the page is designed to target people who are looking for info about meds and prescription pr

Stop, Look, and Listen!
Stop~thinking about what it is that you want and need..but what your prospect wants and needs!
Look~really look into the hearts of your prospect...don't make them a number...make them a FRIEND!
Listen~If you are doing all of the talking...how are you going to do this with out listening to them?

Target! Know your market and target!
So often we try to use the scatter gun approach in order to attract new customers/business associates or whatever.
* OSFAA (one size fits all advertising) is not as effective as target marketing.
* Are you targeting men or women, business people or work at home moms, mature or younger audiences?
* Write your ads accordingly.
Where are you posting your ads?
* If it is populated mostly by men, don't place an ad aimed at women
* visa-versa.

Probably because no one posted links to their businesses in this thread and/or said "here, buy this product and it'll help your business" ... that is advertising. No one has advertised in this thread. That's the difference.

Hmmm, so how is posting "information that can help everyone" not the same as advertising...? ;)
Take care, Valerie!

Hello people,
1.Offer a freebie to your website visitors. Most of you know what that can do.
2.Also provide visitors to your website with content they can't read anywhere
else. This will keep them more attentive, and they will stay longer.
I just got finished writing/posting 3 things a person can do to keep visitors gorilla-glued
to their website in one of my groups. :)

Whatever you want someone else to do for you, do it for them.
You want people to open your e-mails, open theirs. You want
people to click your links, click theirs. You want people to give
you feedback, so give THEM feedback.
Do the unexpected, and the unexpected will happen for you!
It's simply the golden rule. And it works or it wouldn't be a rule.

Article marketing. It's actually easier than you think and very effective.
Write a 300-400 word article. Write it naturally (ie, don't overload with keywords). Pepper a few natural anchor text links. Add your website (non-affiliate link) into your author's resource box at the end of the article. Submit a few slightly-altered versions of your article to various PR4+ article sites. These are strong one-way links back to your site, plus other folks do copy/paste your articles onto their sites an

Create pages on pages like squidoo, blogger, myspace, apsense that include links back to your main sites. Make sure your squidoo page (and/or any other of these pages have plenty of word content - food for the spiders ;) ) I have gotten listed fast in search engines simply by linking my new sites to types of sites. (Squidoo is a new one for me that is extremely fun)

Issue press releases about your business. This is a great way to announce a new product, or report on exciting developments in your industry — and it'll drive traffic back to your site.
