Linda,
I once looked at 3 links a lady had in her signature file on a forum. 2 loaded up fairly fast and the third took forever to load. So I took the site which had a pretty nice beginning on the page and shortened into a splash page for her on my website. No lead form, just a splash page.
Then I PMed her, explained why I did it and showed her the sample page. She liked it so well she signed up on my Bring Your Buddy program.
So what I did for a sample was show her what her ad would

Add humor and make things fun for people. That will catch their eye fast. I know it does mine.

Hi Valerie
Just a thought, Sometimes it is easier to show people how to advertise by showing them how you do your advertising or giving them links that they can see how you are doing whatever you are doing that works.
Seeing what you do can on occasions teach better than trying to explain in words alone, but in trying to show them just how can you avoid advertising to some extent, even when you are trying not to actually advertise?
I will give you an example: In order to show people a sales

When writing an article,
I make a quick draft/outline,
Go over it and fill in the blanks,
Leave it for a day.
When I get back to it, I see it with fresh eyes. Sometimes I look at it and say "What was I thinking?". Then I rewrite it and run it by my proof

How to use the Report Unrelated Comment BUTTON:
Don’t be afraid to use this button anywhere you are in the Apsense groups. You know when someone is out and out advertising and don’t care were they post. It only takes three people to click it and the comment will be removed. This helps us all keep the quality high.

First, I would like to thank Valerie for inviting me to join this group.
My advice for writing be it adds or for publications other than ads is to proof-read in reverse. You will be surprised at how many more mistakes you will find this way. Start at the end of the written project and go word by word to the start of your project. :)

Thank you Valerie for this group and the opportunity to post my comments.
When writing an AD or email , ask a question in the subject line that is open ended.

I ditto what Sheri just said. It was taking a break the got me a million dollar domain name.

Take an occasional break. Leave the computer and walk your dog,. have a sandwich, take a nap...anything that gets your mind off the task at hand. When you return, you will be looking at it with fresh eyes, and that could make all the difference in the world.

This Tip is for Teodor : )
Yes to review you work we need to see the link.
The real tip is that the expert always finds a way to advertise. They just advertise in a way that you think it was your own idea.

Get your work proof read by more than one person. I wrote a book and got it proof read by 10 people from 10 different backgrounds. I gave them out 2 at a time so I improved my book in 5 stages. It was a fascinating excercise to see the variety of issues that were picked up.

Hi Valerie,
You say "No advertising in this section Please."
Sorry, but I don't realize exactly... Which section?
I know that Groups are for discussion on a given
subject not for advertising.
Implicitly, when I ask for reviewing an article or,
an ebook or a site, I must write my url link, right?
Do you consider this advertising, or not?
Thanks for the answer.

If you must use pre-written ads, take the time to edit them so that they will have your own personal touch. We've all seen the ones that are sent out en masse, and I know most of us delete them. Write an original subject line, and add your own endorsement in your own words to the copy. And remember to proofread and spell check TWICE.

Make two leads lists. One for downline referrals, and the other for your customer base. These two lists work together, and you can't make any money unless yuou have both.

Keep it short and Simple .. yes, the good old KISS principle - you'll have to excuse the caps in this case Valerie :-)
I don't know how many websites or adverts I get onto, get half way down or less and give up because it's going on and on.
Concise is the name of the game.

Instead of sending people a url to your business opportunity,
send them a link to your e-mail with subject line already
filled in for them, and offer to look at their site. Ask them to
look at yours in exchange after they e-mail you.

Get a good autoresponder account and learn to use it.
Set it up and write a few articles on the things you really
care about. Try to find a niche that a lot of people are
interested in and write about it. Use the autoresponder
form on a simple webpage and write a few catchy lines
to have people subscribe, then run it in traffic exchanges,
offer it to safelist members as a newsletter and treat all
your new subscribers to a nice gift or two every now and
then.
Don't just send them ads, b
