Why is Google being such an A**hole?

Last Friday I made my very first Squidoo lens.

You can imagine my delight when 24 hours later I typed in my prime keyword ASDGashGenerator and found I was listed on page 1 at position 8.

I then typed in my secondary target "Generate Cash Revenue" and found it on Page 1 position 2.

I was to say the least over the moon with such a good result so fast.

Today I went to google again to check and see if there was any change.

There certainly was a change but not the one I had hoped for.

I didn't find my listing for ASGCashGenerator on page one so I thought oh well probably dropped a bit lets look and see where it is.

Page 2? Nope, page 3? nope, page 4? nope, and so it went on page 18? nope, page 19? (the last page) nope.

Hmmmm ok lets check "Generate Cash Revenue" - guess what? cant be found.

So my question is what the h**l did I do to p**s google off so bad that they seem to have de listed me?

Anyone got any idea's.

Not a clue Bill, as I'm no expert on Google.

Did just find you on position 4 on page 1 so it may have been
just a blip. Who knows..........

I added Bill to asdcashgenerator and searched on Alta Vista - Page 1
again, twice. Search engines are weird.

Bill I haev jsut checked the Google Index and your website is actually still indexed by Google, the issue with Google listing is that they tend to get som much traffic that you can be moved in the supplemental index from time to time.

This sounds scary butit si simply because Google operate a lot of different data centres and whislt you may be on page 1 position 8 for one data centre this is not the case for another data centre.

This does make out job alot harder from a promotional point of view, but I think it jsut keeps us on our toes.

I searched on Google (I am in the UK) and I saw your site at position 3 on page 1, and I actually followed your links above and I have signed up.

Hope this Helps
Sean

Hi Sean,

Firstly thank you for putting your trust in my recomendation, although I was not fishing for referrals. I am genuinely Pe'ed off with Google lately as this is not the first time they have caused me damage.

I know we have some experienced Squidoo users and was hoping for some insight as to what was wrong with my lens, if anything.

I had a person from the UK that helped me get started at Squidoo as they are better at that sort of thing than I am. (I am better when it comes to tech support type things)

Yesterday before I made this post neither of us could find it and they were seeing the same results as I was getting.

Just checked again and still not showing.

Hi BJ,

I was inspired by your question enough to go over to Apsense ASK, and see what material I could find on maintaining page rank... There were some surprisingly cool answers over there, good buddy... I'm going back to brush up on my minimal SEO skills..

Have a good day, and I hope you find a solution to your dilemma... I'm not a big fan of Google, either...

Hi Jeff,

Yes there are a lot of good items there.

Once I figure out why they removed me then I can do what I can to get back in the listings.
