Do you know what your blood pressure is? I usually check mine at the local super market. This afternoon it was 101 over 62 with a pulse rate of 65.

Some people think the symptoms of high blood pressure are frequent headaches and dizziness. And although you may feel these things, the truth is that most people with high blood pressure have no symptoms. That is why it is important to monitor your blood pressure.

The chart below is just one of many that I could of used. There are many online to double check if you like.

Hi, Lynn,

My blood pressure is one of the things that is living a life of its' own.

I have had as low as 112 over75 and as high as 152 over 99.

Currently it is 142 over 96 and was 150 over 98 two hours ago (got to keep checking when it gets that high! lol)

It is important for blood pressure to be checked very regularly and, if yours is at a constant level it is possible to regulate that level so that it is within normal bounds (if it isn't already) while folk like me can only do the best we can.

Mine is totally normal. I always check it with grandpa's stuff, because a lot of my family members have problems with blood pressure. :(

Mine runs moderate to high, anywhere from 120/80 to 140/90, but that last one comes after moderate walking pushing a shopping cart.

Change the way you live, the way you eat, the way you think know "change is good"

If your over 40 just be happy if something hurts "then you know your alive" :)

David,

When I was much younger I mine hovered around 90 over 60....it was always interesting at the doctor's office. Especially if the vitals taker was new. They would always retake it, as those numbers were so low.

This is really important stuff, Lynn. Thanks for reminding us.

My mum was a nurse, and she was given a blood pressure testing kit as a gift. She tried it out on her husband, and a week later he was in hospital having a quadrupal bypass. He probably would have died if it wasn't for sheer luck of mum discovering his skyrocketing blood pressure, and he was only in his late 40s at the time.

I think it is fantastic that you can check it at your supermarket. We don't have that here. We should.

Penny,

I wouldn't check it near as often as I should, if this service wasn't available.
