There are many differences between both of them.

The most basic difference is that the Web App runs on browser and mobile app runs on the device itself.

Here are some of the key difference between two :

Web Application needs active internet for it to work on your devices. Mobile App works without an active internet.
Web Application cannot use the resources provided by the system (It can only use as much as provided to the browser) which mobile application can use as much as it requires.
Also because the web application cannot use the resources provided by the system. It requires the service setup to the cloud to connect to the remote database for all the purpose.Mobile application can use the database provided by the system (In android it is sqlite database).
With respect to the UI designing web applications are hard to design since each and every browser ,ever device defers alot and lot of screen size are needed to be taken into factor ,also it lacks any framework guidelines. UI of mobile application has a definite guidelines and are kind of restrictive to some extend.
Web Applications are more vulnerable to the hacks compared to the Mobile Application. One can easily inspect the code of the web application which is hard with mobile applications (It is the reason why most companies such as eCommerce try to force users to use there application ). Also there are many vulnerabilities of Web application such as cross site scripting , SQL injection and many other which mobile applications are pretty much immune.
Mobile Application once made for a particular Environment cannot be replicated to other environments .One has to start from scratch for adaptive it to the other environment. Web Applications are independent of this environments and can adapt to all the devices.

Not too complicated, Mobile apps are mostly designed to suit the interface of mobile gadgets and devices. Most have limited functionality compared to web apps, but contains functions important enough for activities that can be done on the go. Web apps can mostly be used on a computer system with internet access.

A web application is that rewrites the website by communicating with users. With the webserver data dynamically, rather than loading entire pages by the default user process. It can improve performance in many ways no page reloads, easy to navigate pages, no extra time for waiting and using AJAX.

Certainly, there is a difference between a Mobile application and Web Application.

To distinguish between web and mobile app, I would like to explain:

>The basic difference is Mobile application as an app, that uses the resources of the mobile and gets installed in the mobile itself.

>Web application runs in browser of mobile or computer.

> Mobile App works with or without an active internet.

>Web application always requires an active internet connection to work on your devices.

>Mobile application uses the mobile resource like space, database i.e mobile app uses as much as it requires.

>Web application uses the resources provided by the browser.

>User interface of mobile apps is following certain guideline i.e usable for defining version of apps only.

>On the other hand web apps are always designed for different screen size resolution to fit for all as every person has different screen and browser

>Mobile app are very secure .

>Web apps are vulnerable compared to Mobile App.

>Mobile app is easy to use and handy all the time.

>Web app can be accessed in your web browser, just you need to request them via a URI.

> Mobile app development is costly.

>Web app is cost effective development.

Considering both are useful depends upon need, it is concluded that web applications as well as mobile app must be preferred for the business purpose. The benefits of web applications are, easy to develop, user-centric, easy to install, easy to maintain on the other hand mobile app is very handy and used by everyone. So, i hope you don't want to loose any potential customer. To know more about mobile app or web development contact Chetu or visit: www(.)chetu(.)com/solutions/mobile(.)php

What Is The Difference Between A Mobile App And A Web App?

Really a good question but a silly answer for this....

A mobile app is basically you have to install it on your mobile phone. And it can be of any type like a game, photo-editing app, camera app, messaging app.
Some of them can be used offline or online.

And also it require some amount of space needed in your mobile phone to get installed.

But whereas in Web App.
It's basically online and used through the internet and a Web browser.
No app is installed on your computer as a Web app load online and vanishes when closing the window. Web apps like google sheets, online calculator, online notepad, and online PowerPoint, and also many more.

There’s a huge difference between mobile and web applications. You can download a mobile app on your Smartphone. You can use a web app only via an Internet Browser. The biggest difference is that while a mobile app can be used offline, a web app needs internet connection to access.

Mobile apps are more feature-rich and offer a smoother user experience. The web app’s performance also depends on the browser and its ability to smoothly execute the application. Web applications are a fantastic choice for companies who want to build a new product and test the market. Web applications can, however, only use the resources provided by the browser and not the mobile device.

The best example is Instagram. It’s mobile apps provide a host of features like hyperlapse, filters, interactive messages and much more. All this functionality is limited in the web application. On the other hand, B2B and ERP applications benefit highly from web apps as it makes the app more secure.
