What happens to the soul after it leaves the body?

It is being Said that After Death, the soul remains in the middle state for few days on earth, the speed of this energy i.e. soul is said to 100 times slower than the speed of our body!!

I think the Soul does not take birth nor does it die. The Soul is a permanent entity. This phenomenon of taking birth and dying is of the ego. It is the ego that is born and the ego that dies. In reality, the Soul does not die at all.
