You can also use su.pr link shortener..Also helps your exposure through StumbleUpon (one of largest referral sites) Many plugins interfere with other functions especially if you an SEO optimized theme

You can try PHP click counter

@Phillipe it works independent from Wordpress. You create a link from your intended destination and it counts the number of clicks it receives, mush like a forwarding service does, only you maintain control because it's your script.

@Christian I use PHP on my $1 a month hosting, I don't think it gets much cheaper without being free, does it?

When he use free or cheap webspace he will mostly not be able to use php. So the easiest way and if someone has no clue about php or he use a free blog and can't change the code, i would recommend a link tracker. Like Philippe said, TE-Toolbox is a nice one but there are many others out there.

If you have your own website, you can add a script (I have used it for years) and track as many links as you like. Do a search for PHP Click Counter from php junkyard. If you don't have a website, you can get one for a buck a month and put whatever you like on it.

You can try TE Toolbox, but a free account allows to track 10 URLs.
