After a somewhat disastrous first effort at implementing their touted tag trading platform, tagvillage has made many necessary corrections and upgrades,and is now ready to try it again. A bug in the platform caused some words to be repeatedly purchased at the exact same time, resulting in erroneous transactions and incorrect balances. It's all been ironed out and the site will once again go live with its tag trading taking center stage on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. At the same time tagvillage has announced it will move ahead with the previously announced Facebook integration, previously scheduled for much later in the site's development. This highly anticipated soft launch will permit those members who joined early to buy and sell tags (keywords) ahead of the general public. It also lets the system find and correct problems such as happened on Saturday. All indications are that Tuesday's opening will be free of all bugs. New members are being accepted right up until the actual launch time, somewhere between 8 am and 12 noon US central standard time (GMT-6). Free memberships are encouraged and are still the norm. But a small activation payment of $5 will permit new members to join in the tag trading.
