Review on Amber Alert System for Missing Pets
A few weeks ago the local pooper scooper (pet waste removal guy) came to me and asked to chat with me.He explained to me that as he is getting older, he has been looking for new ways to alter his business so he can work less and still make money.
He told me of an idea for an amber alert system for pets. He showed me the couple current systems that existed and he explained what the flaws were.
He told me how most of the internet based system's are archaic in that they are using website and data bases to store missing pets that are reported. That was great for the 1990's but not for the 2010's.
Even the current app that existed only allowed you to put a QR code on it that had an address associated (apparently they don't know most dogs have collars with addresses already).
This guys idea was different. He wanted to use location based services to allow people to report on missing pets, upload photo's, share last spotted pets, and a lot of other things.
He wanted a system that was instant. "If my pet goes missing I don't want to wait 3 hours putting up posters while my pet ends up lord knows where. I want a means of telling everyone in my community instantly, and I want it for every community".
So what he did was had an app created. He promises 1/3 of the sales ($2.99 per download) to be donated to random pet organizations that can be voted on by visitors of his website.
He asked if I would help him promote it and told me he had no funds to pay me with yet.
I told this guy I LOVED this idea and as a pet lover, I would share it with everyone I know, and I would never need any payment for it.
So thats what I am doing and thats what I ask of everyone.

Cooperative marketingAhh an amber alert system is a system used in america to find missing children under the age of 18. This allows an early warning to go out so people in local areas can spot missing children hopefully before they are taken to some far off place - but it also lets people know across the USA who is missing and what kids to be on the lookout for. This system does a very similar thing only it uses the location based services of smart phones to report on missing pets instead of children, it allows owners of pets to list thier missing pets and upload photos, and allows people to report where a missing pet was last spotted.
