The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on June 29, issued an order to ban 59 Chinese mobile apps, including the trending ones such as TikTok, Helo, CamScanner and Club Factory claiming that the move was necessary to safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and Internet users. Taking the national sovereignty and data security into consideration, not only were these apps effaced from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store but also got banned on every possible network in India.
