Would Saskatchewan be a good option to migrate under PNP?

by Nationwide Visas Canada Immigration Services

Those who want to immigrate to Saskatchewan frequently use the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program, or SINP. Compared to federal Canadian immigration systems, provincial nominee programs (PNPs), like the Saskatchewan PNP, may make it easier for applicants to immigrate to Canada more quickly. If they opt to apply through this provincial nominee program, Saskatchewan PNP applicants must intend to live in the province of Saskatchewan. There are many categories under the Saskatchewan PNP for which foreign nationals may apply, as you can see below. The Saskatchewan Government will propose qualified candidates; this is effectively the provincial government's endorsement of their immigration to Canada, and more especially to Saskatchewan. A provincial nomination certificate is given to applicants once the province has nominated them; this document must be submitted with the application for Canadian permanent resident status to the federal government.

What are the SINP Immigration Streams?

There are four routes you can take if you want to immigrate to Saskatchewan:

1. International Skilled Worker Category

2. Saskatchewan Experience Category

3. Entrepreneur and Farm Category

4. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category.

What is the eligibility to apply for SINP?

• Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Validation Code

• Language test results such as:

o International English Language Testing System (IELTS General)

o Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP)

o Test d 'evaluation de français (TEF)

How does the SINP work?

A candidate can build a profile and submit an application to the express entry pool of the Saskatchewan Nominee Program, a points-based system, to show interest in the program.

The following criteria must be met in order to be qualified on points grid:

• For the language proficiency test, you need an IELTS score of at least 7 on each band.

• You must have completed at least one year of post-secondary training or education that is on par with the educational system in Canada.

• The field of your professional experience should match the field of your academic training.

• If you currently reside in Canada, you must have proof of residency.

• Along with the settlement plan, you must show that there are enough funds to cover the payment.

• You must receive a minimum SINP point assessment score of 60 out of 100.

This is also a great time to apply for SINP for your Canada as Saskatchewan is constantly fulfilling its immigration targets. On September 06, Saskatchewan PNP latest draw conducted two back-to-back draws on the same day inviting 760 candidates in total. The first draw invited 377 Express Entry and Occupation in-demand candidates. 159 ITAs were issued to Express Entry candidates under certain NOC codes, requiring a minimum score of 69. 218 ITAs were issued to Express Entry candidates under certain NOC codes, requiring a minimum score of 69.

On the same day for the second draw Saskatchewan invited 383 candidates, with 142 Express Entry candidates and 240 Occupation In-Demand candidates. The minimum score to receive ITA for this draw was 60.

On September 07 again, another Saskatchewan Expression of interest draw was held inviting 943 candidates. Out of these 521 ITAs were issued to Express Entry candidates under certain NOC codes, requiring a minimum score of 70. And the remaining 422 ITAs were issued to Occupation In-Demand candidates under certain NOC codes, requiring a minimum score of 70.
