Why The Coding Market Needs You

by Fusion 360 Studios Digital Marketing Specialists

If you’re looking for a career in web development, the coding market is growing and needs your expertise. Surveys show that advances in technology are causing a shift in the job market and there may not be enough coders to satisfy the need.

Growing Pains

The need for coders is predicted to grow exponentially with advances in technology over the next four years. A survey from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that by the year 2020 there will be nearly one million unfulfilled coding jobs. This is good news if you’re going into web development. If you embrace those brackets and chevrons, you’re almost guaranteed a job after graduation.

Coding Market Tug-O-War

Companies like Facebook, Apple and Google are pushing web development to its limits and beyond. In so doing, these high-tech companies need the best coders the market has to offer. As a result, competing companies and organizations are suffering a shortage of good coders. Job opening for coders at big companies is becoming the norm. There simply aren’t enough coders to go around.

Compensation

This tug-o-war is great news for coders, it puts them on the right side of the negotiation table when it comes to salary. Currently, coders are making between $40,000 and $75,000 a year. Coders working for Google or Apple make closer to $100,000 a year. It is predicted that these salaries will grow in the coming years as the need for coders grows. Needless to say, companies are going to offer great benefits and comforts for coders in order to keep their coders happy.

How to Get Into Coding?

There has never been a better time to get into web development and coding specifically. There are online courses that offer certificates for beginning code. To make yourself more attractive to potential employers, attending a four year university may be your best bet. If you take your schooling seriously, companies will be willing to pay you the big bucks to do their coding.
