Why Pick iPhone Over Android?

by Team Qwikfone Digital Marketing Head

The competition in the mobile phone industry is quite tough these days as tech companies are producing an impressive array of handheld gadgets that keep getting better and better each year. We all know that, when it comes to smartphones, there are two choices: iPhone or Android. Android devices are quite popular in many countries because they are cheaper, more convenient to use, plus they offer a diverse collection of applications from various developers. So, how come iPhones are still considered the top mobile phone today?

Both Android mobile phones and iPhones are in-demand these days, but the latter is leaving Android behind as more people are switching to iOS these days. This is because there are several benefits to be gained from this move which people are now starting to see. Do you want to know why iPhones are cut above the rest?

  • Faster performance.
The latest iPhones are equipped with the latest Bionic chipset which is the A12 which actually beats whatever Android smartphones have. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipset is inching closer to Apple’s Bionic chip, but it cannot yet match the smooth and superior performance that iPhones are known for.

  • User-friendly.
Android touts itself as a user-friendly platform, but so far, it is Apple that has delivered on this front. Apple users may feel a bit bored with the unchanging look of iPhones over the years, but this is a good move from the tech giant as users don’t have to spend time learning the new interface which is common in many Android mobile devices. Once you power on your new iPhone, you will be taken to an all-too familiar screen with a few tweaks here and there and that’s it. You can continue where you have left off with your previous phone.

  • Bloatware is not an issue.
Another advantage that Apple has over Android devices is the fact that you don’t have to deal with bloatware at all. Bloatware is a term used to refer to these unnecessary apps that have been pre-installed into the device which is a common issue with Samsung. These applications do take up at least half of the memory which means that you will not have enough space to download your preferred programs. In an iPhone, you will not be bothered by these add-ons which is a huge relief.

  • Software and hardware work seamlessly.
You might have noticed that it is always Apple that introduces a new widget that Android companies are scrambling to copy. A good example here is the FaceID which is common in the newer iPhones. As the name suggests, this latest security feature aims to scan your face before the device is unlocked. Apple has got this tech down pat, but in others, well, they are certainly lagging with their program feeling incomplete.

  • Regular iOS updates.
What other advantages of the iPhone over Android, you ask? Apple has been quite adept in updating their iPhones’ operating system faster compared to those that are using Android. As a matter of fact, studies show that the tech giant has managed to bring at least 89% of their iPhone models to the latest iOS. For Android-based companies like LG and Samsung, it takes them at least a year before the previous models can be upgraded to the latest operating system. Although we are seeing some improvement in this area, it is still far from being able to compete against the system that Apple has over its devices.

  • Can work in tandem with Macs.
Apple is a wizard when it comes to making their products well with each other. Take for example, their iPhone and their Mac. In MacOS, there is a feature there called Continuity where you can use your personal computer to send and receive calls and SMS, as long as your device is near you. Another feature that these two enjoy together is the AirDrop which lets you transfer your files and photos through your home’s or office’s WiFi connection. And since these gadgets are synced with one another, you can get files from your Mac using your iPhone and vice versa. Android smartphones are doing their best to work with Windows, but they still have a long way to go.

  • Games galore.
Games are yet another area where iPhone excels over Android. You might think that these two are not different, but truth be told, most developers launch their program in iOS before they put it up in Google’s Play Store. Yes, there are tons of impressive games to be downloaded from the Play Store but most of these were first released in iOS. Remember Fortnite? It first launched in iOS before it became an exclusive game of Samsung. So, if ever you want to be on top of all the latest applications, you should switch to getting an iPhone instead.

  • Family oriented.
Another reason why iPhones are considered to be better than Android devices is its Family Sharing feature. This concept lets up to six people share an account under Apple which is an advantage to parents as they can monitor their children’s purchases or usage. Although this is a paid feature, it does help parents keep tabs on their children such as their current location, their schedule, and other pertinent information. Android may not have this capability yet, but it does have access to various applications for parental control which is a good alternative to use.

  • Apple Pay.
Mobile payments these days are becoming a favorite payment option for many, and although there are many apps that let you transfer money to a store, they are not as robust as Apple Pay. It is easy to use as well. Just bring your device close to the compatible terminal, then use the TouchID or FaceID feature to settle your accounts. Apple also has a provision for its users to transfer money to family and friends through messaging and you don’t even have to download and program for it since it is already installed.

  • Exceptional Support.
What else makes the iPhone stand out? Apple has made sure that their customers will always get easy access to their Support whenever they need it. What’s great about their Support is that you can get wherever you are. All that you have to do is to visit an Apple Store and talk to their staff, and for sure, you will get a solution for the problems you are having with your device. Android smartphones do not have a streamlined support system. This is an inconvenience for their users since there is no designated place that will help them address the problems on their mobile phone.

Should You Make the Switch?

This depends on what you are looking for in a mobile device. Yes, Apple does seem like a good choice for any mobile user, but sometimes, its exorbitant price is such a turn off. However, given the advantages that you can get from this brand, you can consider this as a worthwhile investment as iPhones offer convenience and good value for your money.

Brands like Samsung and OnePlus are competing against the tech giant, and Samsung does have flagship phones to match that of the latest iPhones, but overall? They still have plenty of work to do to completely overcome what Apple has to offer.

So, should you make the switch? If you are more comfortable with Android’s platform then there is nothing wrong with sticking with it. On the other hand, if you want a service that allows you to streamline your gadget use, then going for an iPhone is highly recommended.

Consider Refurbished iPhones

But what if your budget is keeping you from getting an iPhone? The solution? Check this out Refurbished iPhones instead. These are cheaper compared to the brand-new ones, but this doesn’t mean that they will not work well. As a matter of fact, you can check out the refurbished site of Apple itself and you will find various iPhone models there that are labeled as refurbished.

Refurbished smartphones are typically fixed or repaired to work like they are new as long as they are graded as A or pristine condition. There is a grading system for these devices to give you a better idea on what their condition is. A is the highest which means that the iPhone must work and even look like it is new. B and downwards means that there will be some flaws to the hardware such as scuff marks, less battery life, and even scratches on the screen.

Fortunately, if you know where to look, you will be able to land a pristine condition iPhone at a much cheaper price. Aside from buying from the tech giant itself, there are third party sellers like QwikFone where you are guaranteed to come across pristine condition Apple iPhones at prices that are easy on your pockets. You can even find older models here too which some Apple users love especially when they prefer an iPhone that has less bells and whistles to it. The best part? All the benefits mentioned above will now be within your grasp.
