Why Jazzhop is the Morning GO.

by Jimmy S. Consultant
There's no better way to start a morning than by heading over to your stove top, putting a cup and half of water into your teapot, heating that up to just before a boil and pouring that over freshly ground nicaraguan dark roasted coffee in the french press. Frederic Chopin out the mouth of Alexa and it's gonna be a good day.

I take my cup of coffee and head downstairs to my office to sit at my journal. I open the page, take a sip and put the pen to the paper. I begin to write whatever I can think of. Straight brain dump. There's no really thought, no attention to grammar or mistakes, just letting it out. I finish a page and close the book, I don't go back to read it and I don't care what was written. I take another sip and I already feel better, lighter, an ease for the rest of whatever I need to accomplish.

I then sit in silence for 15-20 minutes. Just silence. I do my best to completely be aware and not let crazy thoughts run through my mind. Sometimes they do, but that's okay, I try to come back to awareness as much as possible and that is ultimately the goal. It's training essentially, but training downstream with the least amount of effort necessary. I finish that and I go upstairs to heat the coffee I have left in my mug.

I still have some coffee and I am ready to sit at my computer and begin my work. I have a nice little to-do list and I do my best to knock out everything on there as quickly as possible. That is the goal and I am so-so at it's achievement and I am really getting better as the days go on.

Happy living people. Minimize the stress. It doesn't do much for you. It really doesn't.
