Whenever someone uses the hotmail account. they aren’t worry about server issue. Because it is backed by the Microsoft, so their email servers are always running without any interruption. Although, Hotmail is a great email platform and it always performs better. But sometimes, it might put you in slightly bad situation.

Like- It may stop receiving emails all of sudden. If you will check the server status. You will not find any kind of technical faults with it.

• 4.   Mailbox related issues.

How to fix Hotmail not receiving emails on the  computer or phone?

Start cleaning the sweep and other email rules-

Whenever your hotmail account isn’t receiving new emails on the account. first thing, you need to do is check the email sweep rules. If there is any sweep rule is active, please ahead and disable it. if you don’t know how to do it, here is the guide to do that.

1.   Open the outlook account on your phone or computer.

2.   Click on the settings and press the sweep.

3.   If you see any rule under it press the delete button.

4.   Now click on the email rule.

5.   Click on the rule and press the delete button. now select another rule and delete it to (repeat with all rules).

6.   Once you clear all rules, you need to press the save settings button.

Disable the forwarding-

After changing the email rules, you should visit the forwarding section and disable  it if available. To do that, again you need to visit the outlook settings and click on the email forwarding. Now turn it off if it is enabled.

Fix browser-

Once you change these settings on the browser, next thing you need to do is, change these settings on the browsers too. Your browser might be faulty due to which hotmail can’t receive emails on the account. so go to the browser settings and clear the browsing data first. Now reload the mailbox. It it doesn’t work, you need to reset the browser.

Update the imap and pop settings-

If you can’t receive emails on the hotmail using application. You should check the imap and pop3 settings. probably, the port or communication addresses are invalid.

So you should correct the imap/pop settings and then retry to access the webmail again. let’s see what does your browser shows now.

Check blocklist-

Apart from the email settings, you may also not get the emails when you have blocked the sender. So you should go back to the outlook settings and check if the sender is enabled or blocked. If they are blocked, you need to unblock them and then ask them to send you another emails.

About the previous emails, you can visit the trash or spam folder, you will find your emails there. So select them and mark them as not spam or move them back into the inbox.
