Why does Singapore allow US forces on its soil? A review by Junus Tan

Contrary to what the Pro-Chinese and Pro-Americans believe, NO we are not allowing US presence on our soil in order to counter any growing Chinese influence or whatsoever.

The US presence is to deter against any aggression from our Southeast Asian neighbors especially Malaysia and Indonesia, the 2 very nations with tons of racial chauvinists and religious extremists who are hell bent of ‘erasing’ us off the map.

Besides, we aren’t actually ‘letting the Americans on our soil’. The agreement was just about letting the US forces use our facilities, meaning to dock or to land in our bases if they’re in the area.

And for those who are wondering since when did ASEAN relations become so uneasy, let me draw an example from one of Junus Tan answer.

Just take a good look at the ‘warm and friendly’ comments our neighbor's leaders have been giving us over these past few years,
