Who Will You Call for VoIP Business Phone Service?
If you’re considering switching from an on-premise service to a VoIP business phone service, you are probably researching the features and benefits that come along with the transition. You are most likely being bombarded by various providers who state they’re the best, the cheapest, the most subscribed to and more. The question you should ask yourself is, “What makes these services the _____ (fill in the blank)?” If you’re like me, you don’t believe everything you read. You want proof that the service will deliver on its promises. The problem is that once you’ve signed on the dotted line, you’re locked into the service for at least a year, sometimes longer if you bought into their 2- to 3-year discount or offer of free phones if you stay with them for a certain period. Here’s the thing, every provider wants your business and you’re in the driver’s seat, up until the point where you sign their contract.
Before you sign any contract, whether it’s for that new car or that carton of milk, you should be reading the label and the small print. At least with a bad carton of milk, you can take it back to the store for a complete refund or replacement. And, when you drive that new car off the lot, you have a short window to take it back when buyer’s remorse sets in. But, how willing are you to ‘take back’ the new phone service after the number porting, new phones are installed, and the upgrade to the routers you will need to support your new system, when you discover the phones aren’t so ‘free’ and the features you desperately need are add-ons that cost a little extra? I’m guessing, not so much!
Switching to VoIP for your small business phone services is probably the right call, pun intended. But, who will you call? Will it be the most popular VoIP phone service, just because they tell you they’re the most popular? Or, will you conduct the research your small business deserves to make certain your decision is based on your needs and not the needs of every other business on the rolls of that ‘popular’ VoIP business phone service. Kick the tires first, then sign on the dotted line. PanTerra offers a 30-day risk free trial period, so you know you’re in good hands right from the beginning.
