Who can Enter Canada under current circumstances?

Although it could be possible to apply for immigrations on one own self, this might

During the current Covid-19 pandemic,
Canada did put some restrictions on the movement to and fro the country. In a
recent update, Canada has provided a news release informing about the exemption
of workers who can enter the country while the restrictions are still in place.
The restrictions will be in place till June 30th 2020 for people
travelling from outside the continent. However, between USA and Canada border,
the restrictions have been extended to July 21st 2020. All work permit holders are exempt from
travel restrictions into Canada. However, they will have to prove their reason
and purpose behind their travel to Canada.
Temporary
workers –
There are 2 scenarios when Temporary
foreign worker, residing outside Canada can travel to Canada-
1.
All those Foreign Nationals who
have a valid Canadian Work Permit
2.
All those foreign nationals who
have already received “Letter of introduction” from the IRCC on their work
permit application. But whose work permit has not been issued yet. Such travels
will need the traveller to produce their “Letter of introduction” while
boarding their flight to Canada.
Personals
who work in critical occupations –
All those foreign professionals who are
part of health, food and related industries are provided permission on
immediate basis by the IRCC. These professionals will not be subjected to the
mandatory 14-day quarantine period. Critical occupations include –
i.
Emergency Service providers who
include firefighters, medical service providers
ii.
Marine workers
iii.
Delivery, maintenance or repair
workers of essential equipment
iv.
Medical students with written
approval
Non-Optional
Travel –
IRCC allows all the below foreign
professionals to travel to Canada if –
i.
The traveler has a valid Work
Permit to Canada even if the professional has no job offer from Canada
ii.
The foreign professional has a
valid “Letter of Introduction” for an open work permit, job offer and intends
to work on the same job on entering Canada
iii.
The foreign professional has
employer specific Work permit along with the job offer.
Optional
or no Travel –
IRCC has defined that the below cannot
travel to Canada if-
i.
The foreign professional has a
“letter of Introduction” for an open work permit but wants to travel to Canada
with an intention to find a job in Canada.
ii.
Such an employer with the job
offer from the employer, who is closed due to Covid-19, is not permitted to
travel to Canada.
CBSA
(Canada Border Service Agency)-
CBSA makes discretionary decisions based on
the foreign national’s situation. Factors that CBSA considers –
i.
Will the Foreign national be
employed in essential occupation in Canada
ii.
Purpose of travel to Canada
IEC
Work Permit holders –
International Experience Canada (IEC)
candidates with “Letter of Introduction” and a job offer from Canada are
allowed to travel to Canada.
New
Work Permits –
IRCC is accepting new applications for work
permit in Canada.
Canada is still accepting applications and
is processing all the applications for Provincial
Nomination program, Express
Entry Visa Canada program and Canada
Investment Visa programs.
