What you need to know about magic mushrooms?

by John Carter Fungushead
Well, magic mushrooms might look like your regular mushrooms, but they are a bit different. These are either wild or cultivate mushrooms containing psilocybin, a naturally-occurring psychoactive and hallucinogenic compound. The component psilocybin is one of the most well-known psychedelics. There is a word of caution here. Psilocybin is a Schedule I drug and it has a high potential for misuse. The same has not been yet approved by the US for regular use.

Magic mushrooms are often prepared by drying and are eaten by being mixed into foods or drinks, although some people eat freshly picked magic mushrooms. Magic mushrooms are also called shrooms, blue meanie mushrooms, golden tops, amani, agaric, liberty caps, and philosopher’s stones.

Eating magic mushrooms on a regular basis can cause problems like yawning, nausea, feeling relaxed or drowsy, introspective experience, nervousness, panic, hallucination, and even psychosis.

How does one recognize magic mushrooms?

The mushrooms containing psilocybin looks like dried ordinary mushrooms with long, slender stems with whitish-gray color and dark brown caps that are light brown or white at the center. Dried mushrooms are rusty brown color with isolated areas of off-white.

There are many uses of magic mushrooms. They can be eaten raw, mixed with food or brewed like tea or coffee. They can also be mixed with tobacco or cannabis and smoked.

What are the features of these blue meanies mushrooms?

Magic mushrooms are used mainly for hallucination, meaning they can make you see, hear, and feel sensation that seem real but are not. The effects of magic mushrooms, however, are highly variable and it is believed to be also influenced by environmental factors. Some of these factors are dosage, age, weight, personality, emotional state, and history of mental illness.

While these magic mushrooms are considered to be a peaceful drug, these shrooms have been reported to induce anxiety paranoia, frightening hallucinations, and confusion in some. The hospital admissions related to the use of magic mushrooms are often connected to what is known colloquially as a bad trip.

Besides all the bad talks about magic mushrooms, these shrooms have been used for thousands of years for both spiritual and medicinal uses among the indigenous people of Europe and America. Shrooms have also been used to add spiritual experiences and self-discovery. A lot of people believe that these naturally occurring drugs like weed, magic mushrooms, and mescaline are sacred herbs that enable people to attain superior spiritual states. Many others take magic mushrooms to experience a sense of euphoria, connection, and a distorted sense of time.
