Enter the Streamy Awards, which brings together the biggest names in YouTube, Vine and other online video channels to honor, discover and celebrate their success online. Gigi Gorgeous
Gigi Gorgeous, a beauty guru with over a million subscribers and an LGBT advocate, gave a heartwarming speech to her viewers thanking and encouraging them to be themselves. She closed the speech by telling followers that they are the her light at the end of a tunnel and to “stay gorgeous.”
WhatsUpMoms
WhatsUpMoms is a channel on YouTube where video production has been inspired by moms. Made famous by their Taylor Swift parody, Blank Space (Mom Version) won the award in the Kids and Family genre. During the acceptance speech, one of the creators of the channel made a pregnancy announcement that warmed the hearts of all viewers.
Sir Mix-A-Lot
Is it really a party if Baby Got Back isn’t played at least once? Well, the Streamy Awards was no exception. Sir Mix-A-Lot finished off the award show with everyone’s favorite party anthem.
With the growth of YouTube, online video production can no longer be ignored and these new web-stars should be celebrated and acknowledged for their success.
