What Types of CBD Products Are There?

by Sierra Powell Writer

The cannabis plant has many active beneficial substances. One of those substances is CBD. CBD(Cannabidiol) interacts with your body's endocannabinoid, aiding in maintaining the right equilibrium. CBD is of 3 main types, which causes the generation of many kinds of CBD-based products. Keep reading to know more about CBD types and their products.

3 Types of CBD

As CBD is divided into 3 main types, you must know the differences between the 3 types. The 3 types are CBD full-spectrum, CBD broad-spectrum, and CBD isolate.

CBD Full-Spectrum

A hemp extract containing CBD and other natural compounds like terpenes and THC(tetrahydrocannabinol) is known as CBD Full Spectrum. The full spectrum has CBD, flavonoids, terpenes, and essential oils that work together synergistically to give multiple therapeutic benefits. The benefits won’t be the same if these compounds are used individually.

CBD Broad-Spectrum

CBD Broad-spectrum has the same hemp extract as CBD full-spectrum. The only difference is that it has an additional extensive extraction process in which the THC is removed, leaving the natural compounds intact in the hemp plant. Experiments confirm that products with broad-spectrum CBD have near to zero THC(a psychoactive substance) traces.

CBD Isolate

This CBD type exists in the purest form and doesn't contain THC or extracts from the hemp plant. It doesn't have other compounds, so it can't work synergistically because CBD is isolated from cannabinoids, terpenes, and naturally occurring plant compounds.

CBD Products

There are many CBD products consumed in different ways: sublingually, orally, and through inhalation.

CBD Oils and Tincture

CBD tinctures and oils are used sublingually and usually come in 120ml glass dropper bottles. They come in different flavors, like mango, citrus, peach, and chicken. To consume them, you must place prescribed drops of oil or tincture under your tongue. You can also consume them with your food or mix them in your drink to relieve insomnia or anxiety.

CBD Edibles and Capsules

You can orally ingest CBD, too, in the form of gummies, capsules, and edibles. Some examples of CBD edibles are cookies, brownies, chips, protein shakes, chocolates, and beverages. CBD capsules are also taken orally. Gel-based capsules have a quicker effect on the body than CBD edibles and gummies, which take time to show effects.

CBD Vapes

Smoke inhalation is one way to consume CBD. CBD vapes are available in various flavors, mostly naturally flavored with terpenes. A high dosage of CBD through vaping calms down a person and fights insomnia, while a low dosage allows a person to stay alert and focused.

Things to Consider Before CBD Oil Consumption

Before consuming CDB oil, you must know how much and how to consume CBD oil.

How to Swallow it?

One way to swallow CBD oil is by letting it sit right under your tongue for a minute. Give it a while to absorb, and then swallow it. Just keep a glass of water or any beverage so you can drink it right after you have swallowed the oil. This will prevent the after-oil taste from staying in your mouth.

CBD Oil Consumption-How Much to Consume

Generally, new consumers of CBD oil should start with a low dosage and then increase gradually. Gradual consumption will help you identify how much dosage your body needs and what are the side effects of the dosage. It is wise to visit your doctor and take his recommendation, as sometimes you can't take CBD oil with other medications.

A suitable way of CBD Oil Intake

There are various methods you can pick from to consume CBD oil at home. You can eat it with your food by adding the prescribed oil drops to your meal, as there is chicken-flavored oil too. Moreover, you can take it as capsules or add it to your coffee or drink. It depends on what your doctor thinks is the most suitable way for you.

For instance, taking CBD oil as a capsule will take longer to effect than putting it under your tongue. It will be useful for you to try different ways and see which is best for you or gives the least side effects.

Conclusion

Knowing the types of CBD-based products is essential as you should know what you are consuming. As CBD is now widely used by many and is known to treat insomnia, anxiety, pain, depression, and other day-to-day issues, you should also add it to your life. Test what CBD-based products suit you best.
