What one needs to do to make a career in music industry?
90s was an
amazing time for music industry as it gave masses a great opportunity to buy
their favorite audio cassettes. Though, this sudden boom was abruptly shunned
with the advent of internet and various online video and audio musical
channels. The scenario continued to remain the same for over a decade but
things are slowly changing and musical industry is once again on an upward
curve.
As Rappers
like Badshah, Honey Singh and few others tend to infiltrate the purity of
masterpieces of yesteryears, Bollywood
music ratings are becoming harsher day by day as this new era of music
development in Bollywood shows no originality whatsoever.
Though,
there is no dearth of talent in our industry, there is definitely a dearth of
opportunities. There are several job opportunities open for budding musicians
and chances of fetching it becomes higher if you are a graduate from a musical
institute. The live show sector is observed by many as the new focus of the
music business and positive music
reviews garnered from that front can certainly uplift the career prospects
of an aspirant.
Unfortunately,
music artists are still not aware of the fact that there still exists a high
demand for exceptionally trained and competent musicians to be a part of or add
support on an album. Music producers specifically look for candidates who have
done some sort of music production
course.
Truth to be
told, as the demand is high, so is the competition. In order to work as a
studio or session musician, you should be able to read music at a flowing
rhythm and be able to adjust your game to suit the needs of the customer.
Teaching music can also be done at a number of various degrees of understanding
and pay grade that ranges from private in-home lessons up to collegiate-level
music study.
In order to
make a mark in the music industry, you must have something unique in your art
to get noticed. The person must have an intrinsic unique talent to him to stand
out from the crowd. The advent of independent YouTube musical channels has given
a platform to talents like Vidya Vox,
Sanam band and Shankar Tucker to showcase their talent without any hassles
as well, which has instilled optimism in young budding artists.
Our country
is definitely waiting for the next generation of AR Rahman, Arijit Singh, RD
Burman, and Kishore Kumar who was responsible for creating some of the best
gems in the Hindi music industry.
