What Kind of New Music is the Best?

To declare that a certain band or artist is “the best” is undeniably subjective, but with some research to what’s out there with considerable detail can answer what’s the best new music in Maine. First, let’s start by clearing that there is a lot of new music people like, but a good majority of it isn’t all that thrilling.

You must probably have thought, “Why can’t top mainstream artists/bands hold up quality wise with some of the rising artists and bands?” The answer is simple – because the message in the mainstream music just isn’t very stimulating. Rising artists – on the other hand – have lyrical content that’s usually spot on and inspiring. Some new musical artists may even remind you of the classics like Deep Gold’s performance sounds like a throwback to classics such as Tom Waits or Leonard Cohen.

When it comes to new releases, many find that on the first few listens they’re fooled into thinking that it’s new and improved, but then it wears off quickly. Again, there is a lot of stuff for sure that is very cool and certainly creative, but a majority of all the new mainstream music out there is merely a window dressing. So, what kind of music is the best? It would seem like indie music is better than mainstream on all counts and if you’re looking to enjoy some good music, you should try some new artists and bands.
