What is the theme of 2019 Earth Day?

Earth Day is the yearly occasion celebrated worldwide on 22nd April and one theme is chosen for earth day and the theme of 2019 earth day is to guard the species exists on this earth. In 1970, the first earth day was celebrated and it was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson who had seen the devastation caused by a huge spill at Santa Barbara of California in 1969. The purpose of the earth day is to promote the maintain of natural balance and address the several ecological issues like contamination of the sea, debris left over the land, environmental change, preservation of the Earth's biological communities etc.

The world is celebrating the earth day since 1970 and the theme of earth day 2019 is to protect all the categories of animals. The earth day network selects the theme of every earth day and runs the awareness programs in the world for the welfare, protection and the saving of the planet. The objective of 2019 Earth Day theme is to bring issues to light among the peoples about the speedy rate of annihilation and the causes and the consequences of this phenomenon.

Theme of Earth Day 2019

Several animals like white Cheetah, Dinosaur, Dodo, Passenger Pigeon etc. are already extinct and few more are very close to being added in the list like rhinos, elephants, lions, tigers, leopard, jaguars, whales, sharks etc. The extinction of animals occurs either due to natural calamities like floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis etc. or man-made activities like climate change, deforestation, habitat loss, trafficking and poaching, unsustainable agriculture, pollution, and pesticides etc.

We can’t do much for the natural calamities but we can control our action. Animals do have the right to live like humans and they are equally important for maintaining the ecological balance of the environment. By killing them, Human are indirectly responsible for disturbing the natural balance of the environment. Point to remember that till now we have found earth is the only planet where life is possible to protect the earth and save the species gifted by nature.

How Can We Save Them?

Now we move to a million-dollar question and that is how can we save them or protect them. What I believe is there are several methods and we may opt anyone of them. Let us discuss a few of them here.

1. It is necessary to make strict laws by the government to save wildlife.

2. Stop buying clothes made of animal skins.

3. Stop eating animal and opt for food based on the plant only.

4. Stop Hunting or the killing of the species only for the few bucks.

Here, I proposed a few suggestions and I personally believed and would like to recommend all the human to start to cherish all the animals. Invest some energy with creatures and think about them. It is verifiable truth that, when you begin cherishing them, you will begin securing them too.
