They, together, have geared up to take these technologies out of the nascent stage.  

Once upon a time, a computer used to understand the language of binary language. Today, it has started coming out with an output in natural language. Interpreting answer in just ‘0’ and ‘1’ is no more its tendency. Now, it knows how to resonate with a human tongue.

Natural Language Processing (NLP):

A subset of AI called robotic process automation takes care of automating tasks. Just rewind your memory a decade ago. You might have noticed a bank official registering your transactions. He used to record in his journal every time whenever you debit or credit a certain amount

If you see the same scenario from the lens of automation now, that old manual workforce won’t be there. It’s just because the robotic process automation has come in its place.  It actually represents a software or application that captures in and interprets through. Thereby, automation of repetitive transaction or manipulation of data and communicating with other digital devices occur automatically.  

Let’s move ahead to know what gives a machine voice.

NLP is an artificial translator:

It’s NLP or Natural Language Processing that ensures its speech. Actually, the machine is like an obedient servant. It expresses in a human tone & language. The NLP helps it master the art of analysis and understand what we, human, write or talk.

Components of NLP:

1. Natural Language Understanding (NLU):   

A human brain takes a few seconds to understand the speech. Subsequently, an individual analyzes. He comes with an answer according to the talk. Likewise, the NLU lets the machine understand what makes sense out of an input. It can be an order or instruction or query. It analyzes from all verticals. The speech passes through lexical ambiguity (related to noun and verb), syntactical ambiguity (parsing) and referral ambiguity (confusing or possibly have multiple meaning). Eventually, the machine derives a meaningful understanding.

2. Natural Language Generation:

So! Your device has understood what you instructed. Now, what?

It’s time for a natural language generation. A communication completes with reception, analysis and release of thoughts. The first half (that is reception and analysis) is completed. The reply is due. This natural language generation converts its analysis into a natural language.

This is how, the machine arranges text, sentence and finally, releases it. All these jobs take place internally while mapping the planned sentences. These sentences meet the reality. I’ll share a current example later in this article.

It has already been aforementioned. If you want to witness its traces in day-to-day scenario, just look into the sentimental analysis, email filtration, voice recognition and information extraction.

The company namely Expedia has harnessed it for extracting the sentiments and build opinion. If you thoroughly look into email processing, you will find NLP at its core. It helps you to filter out spammy mails that enter your inbox.

Even, Google Duplex and Siri can let you hands-on with it in its voice recognition technology.

How does it help in customer service?

Recently, Google’s Sundar Pichai demonstrated Duplex in its annual I/O conference. Among several app & software developers and techies, he illustrated how it can fix an appointment with a salon in a video. The AI-triggered NLP technology gives it a human voice. But, indeed, it echoes very much similar to a girl or a boy’s voice. It uses several fillers like ummm… and oh.. perfectly that declares it an imitation of a human being.

Now, you can presume how much effective it can make one’s trading activities. You will experience absolutely no burning a hole in your pocket if you use it. You can save extra cost that you might incur over employing a customer support officer. And also, it would definitely help you to get rid of phobia that some of you develop while interacting with people.
