A maximum processing time of
three months is set for immigration to Nova Scotia
for candidates who meet one of nine different streams.

A Nova Scotia Demand: Express
Entry stream was previously available; however it was permanently terminated on
January 4, 2021.
Ø Nova Scotia Labor Market Priorities
The province's Labor Market
Priorities stream is intended to allow it to target specific occupations for
immigration.
Letters of Interest are targeted
at vocations in this stream, with Early Childhood Educators being the first
emphasis job.
REQUIRMENTS:
•
Obtain a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia
Nominee Program through the Express Entry
system.
•
Meet the Express Entry stream's minimum work
experience requirements if you've qualified.
•
Show that you have the money to successfully
establish yourself and your family in Nova Scotia, as well as pay for your
immigration and travel expenditures.
•
Be legally entitled to live in the country in
which you are currently residing.
•
You must meet the qualifying requirements in
existence at the time you receive a Letter of Interest.
Ø Nova Scotia Experience Class
The Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry stream is for
high-skilled immigrants with experience in Nova Scotia. Candidates must have

Create a profile in the Canada Express Entry

The Nova Scotia Labour Market
Priorities for Physicians stream allows the province to choose from the federal
Express Entry pool qualified doctors.
Two National Occupational
Classification (NOC) codes are especially targeted by the stream:
1. Family Physicians (NOC 3112)
2. Specialist Physicians (NOC
3111)
Requirements for Physicians in Nova Scotia's Labor Market
• Have a job offer as a Family
Physician (NOC 3112) or a Specialist Physician from the Nova Scotia Health
Authority or the IWK Health Centre (NOC 3111).
• Commit to living and working in
Nova Scotia for at least two years.
• Through Express Entry, receive
a Letter of Interest from the NSNP.
• You must submit your
application within 30 days of receiving the Letter of Interest.
• Meet the Express Entry-linked
program's minimal work experience requirements if you've qualified.
• Show that you have enough money
to support yourself and your family in Nova Scotia.
• In the country where you
currently reside, you must have legal status.

Scotia The pilot programme focuses on high-demand intermediate-skilled
professions in the province.
Depending on labour market need,
the target occupations may change. Specifically, it deals with jobs classified

Ø Skilled Worker
The employer-driven Skilled
Worker stream is geared toward overseas workers and graduates. After receiving
a favorable Labour Market Impact Assessment, employers who have been unable to
fill positions with Canadian citizens or permanent residents can access the
stream (LMIA).
Requirements for Candidates
• Job offer from a Nova Scotia
firm for a full-time, permanent position.
• In order to qualify for the
job-offering employer, a semi-skilled or low-skilled worker must have been
employed there for at least six months.
• The applicant must be between
21 and 55 years old.
• A high school diploma is
required.
• Accreditation, training, or skills as
needed.
• Language competence in English
or French equivalent to CLB Level 5 for skilled workers and CLB Level 4 for
semi-skilled and low-skilled workers.
• Financial means to establish a
successful presence in Nova Scotia.
Ø International Graduates in Demand
The International Graduates in
Demand stream in Nova Scotia is aimed at international graduates who have a
permanent job offer in one of two NOC codes:
1. Nurse aides, orderlies, and
patient service associates (NOC 3413).
2. Early childhood educators and
helpers (NOC 4214).
Requirements for International Graduates in High Demand
• A full-time permanent job offer
from a Nova Scotia employer in NOC 3413 or 4214 in a field related to your
recent studies.
• Be between the ages of 21 and
55.
• A high school diploma is
required.
• Within three years of your
application, complete a course of study of at least 30 weeks in length, with at
least 50% of the time spent in Nova Scotia.
• NOC 3413 candidates: The
programme must award a certificate, diploma, or degree.
• NOC 4214 candidates: Program
must award a diploma or degree.
• Certifications from regulatory
agencies in Nova Scotia are essential for the work.
• Language skills
Ø Physician
General practitioners, family doctors, and specialists are hired through the Physician Stream in Nova Scotia. It is designed to
help the province recruit and retain doctors for positions that have not been
filled by Canadians or permanent residents.
Requirements
•
In the country where you live, you have legal
status.
•
If you are a temporary worker or visitor in
Canada, you must show documentation of your legal status.
•
If you are applying from outside of Canada, you
must show proof of legal status in your home country.
•
If you've lost your status, you won't be able to
apply again until it's been restored.
Job Offer
Working at the Nova Scotia Health
Authority (NSHA) or the Izaak Walton Killam Health Centre as a:
• Family physician and general
practitioner (NOC 3112) OR
• Physician who is a specialist
(NOC 3111)
Ø Entrepreneur
Candidates with expertise in
business ownership or senior management are targeted for the Nova Scotia
Entrepreneur stream. They must live in Nova Scotia, create or buy a business,
and actively participate in the day-to-day administration of that business.
After a year of operation,
individuals in the Entrepreneur stream are granted a temporary work permit
before applying for permanent residence. Candidates in a pool are asked to
apply in this stream, which uses an Expression of Interest format.
Candidate Requirements for the Entrepreneurial Stream
•
Be at least 21 years old.
•
Desire to reside permanently in Nova Scotia
while owning and operating a business in the province.
•
A net worth of $600,000 is required.
•
A minimum of $150,000 is required to start or
buy a business in Nova Scotia.
•
At least 3 years of experience actively managing
and operating a business (minimum 33% ownership) OR more than 5 years in a
senior business management capacity.
•
Have a minimum of a 5 on the Canadian Language
Benchmark in English or French in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Ø Entrepreneurship for International
Graduates
The International Graduate
Entrepreneur stream is similar to the Entrepreneur stream; however it is solely
for recent Nova Scotia University or community college graduates. On a
Post-Graduation Work Permit, they must have created or purchased a Nova Scotia
firm and operated it for a year.
If a candidate intends to settle
in the province, they will be recommended for permanent residence. The
Entrepreneur stream uses the same Expression of Interest format as the
Entrepreneur stream.
Candidate Requirements for the International Graduate Entrepreneur
Stream
•
Desire to reside permanently in Nova Scotia
while owning and operating a business in the province.
•
At least one year of continuous active
management and ownership of your present Nova Scotia firm (100 per cent
ownership).
•
Have completed a degree or diploma that includes
at least two academic years of full-time, on-campus study at a Nova Scotia
institution or community college.
•
A valid work permit after graduation.
•
A minimum score of 7 on the Canadian Language
Benchmark in English or French in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
