What are the machines used in extracting oil from various oilseeds?

Generally, two types of oil extracting machines can be used for extracting edible oil, which are hydraulic oil press and screw oil press.

Hydraulic oil press is mainly composed of three parts. Main body: including bottom-board, column, pressing chamber, drip tray and nuts. Hydraulic transmission device: consists of transmission shaft, worm wheel, worm, gear pumps, high-pressure pump, relief valve, etc. Electrical system: important part of the press which supplies power with least energy cost. This machine usually has features as below. 1. Widely applied to press peanuts, sesame, rape seeds, sunflower seeds,etc. 2. Reasonablely designed pressing chamber ensures high oil yield. 3. The drip tray is equipped with heating controlling system which can adjust the temperature of crude oil; thus it can work at any season.

While Screw oil press uses the electric motor or diesel generator set as the engine. Before pressing, a series of work need to be done like oilseeds preprocessing, chamber pre-heating. etc.. "This can not only protect the machine but also improve oil yield" according to the engineer. About 10 minutes later, when the temperature is high enough to meet the pressing degree, the operator can feed the oil seeds into the machine either by labor or by alto elevator(can ensure the continuous feeding). With the constantly feeding and rotation of the screw shaft, the space between the rings and the pressing screws is much smaller, which tightly squeezes oil from the seeds.

There are two types of screw oil press. Single screw oil press machine and integrated screw oil press. Their main difference may be that an integrated screw oil press usually consists of an electric cabinet control system and an oil filtering vat.

These days, another new type of mini oil press for home use appeared. It can be widely used to press many daily consumption oilseeds like peanut, sesame, canola, etc.. It is easy to operate, offering higher oil yield and has less power consumption. Experts say they will have quite lot markets in the near future.
