by Disease Fix Largest Disease Information Center
It is important to take preventive measures since early childhood to ensure your kids do not develop cavities or rotten teeth. Brushing is important to maintain dental hygiene. Here are wonderful ways by choosing right tooth pastes to develop good brushing habits in kids.

Tooth Decay (Dental Caries)
Tooth decay is a common problem in kids and younger children. It is defined as the damage caused when germs and bacteria in the mouth produce acids that eat away a tooth. The decay causes holes or pits in the tooth, called a dental cavity or dental caries.

If you do not treat them early and take good care of the teeth of your kids, the decay can lead to pain, infection, and even loss of the tooth.

Sometimes, the process of tooth decay is so intense that kids have to go under general anesthesia for the treatment and removal of their damaged teeth.

A good care of the teeth of children starts with their parents taking necessary preventive measures since early years of the childhood and keeping proper dental hygiene.

Brushing the teeth of kids is integral part of dental hygiene. However, you should avoid using normal tooth pastes for the younger kids. Here are some options that you can try for your kids.

Toothpastes for your kids
Weleda Mint Children’s Toothpaste: It is a gentle toothpaste that is based on natural and organic ingredients. This gives a soothing experience to the gums and teeth of your kids. Weleda is suitable for children with sensitive teeth. It is recommended for first time brushing of the kids. The reason that it does not contain any synthetic chemical removes your worry about the child swallowing the paste while brushing.

Colgate Children's 2-in-1 Toothpaste: Children prefer fruit flavors like watermelon, apple, and strawberry. Colgate brings a variety of flavors for the kids. However, the toothpaste contains some preservatives also. Parents should avoid using this regularly for kids below five. The paste is approved by the American Dental Association.

Organic Mild Fennel Children’s Toothpaste: This is made in Denmark and is a popular toothpaste in Europe. It contains essential oils and is completely organic. It is though more expensive than other brands. But if your child loves it, it’s worth to buy it.

You will however need not worry about swallowing of the paste because it is 100 % organic.

Natural Dentist Toothpaste: This toothpaste is suited for children who use braces. Children who wear braces have a lot of problems in brushing. It is quite common for the plaque to deposit in places that are difficult to clear.

This toothpaste contains special ingredients like aloe Vera gel and Xylitol that help get rid of bacteria in these places and reduce their effects on the teeth of your kids. This helps in preventing kids rotten teeth too as the bacteria can over time cause damage due to acids produced by them.
