What Are The Early warning signs of Kidney Stones

Kidney Stones are crystallized minerals and salts that gets collected inside the kidneys to form kidney stones. Most of the small-sized kidney stones pass down to the urinary tract and out of the body through urine. However, when some of them get stuck in the tract, this causes severe pain mainly referred to as kidney stone pain.

 

How To Identify The Kidney Stones

Here are some of the early warning signs or symptoms related to the emergence of kidney stones:

  1.     Stomach, side or back pain: Kidney stone pain ain't always targeted or triggered as stomach pain but also as side pain or back pain. This pain usually starts all of a sudden when the stone moved down to ureter causing blockage and pressure on the kidney. This pain will sometimes move in waves and will last for several minutes before changing its location.
  2.    Pain during urination: If you are experiencing pain while urinating alike sharp and burning sensation, this happens when kidney stone reaches between the bladder and ureter. This is often confused with UTI. This could be made clear with the frequency of the urine. Kidney stones also lead to irregular urination.
  3.       Blood in urine: The blood in urine might not be visible but blood cells could still be present which is usually detected through tests. This blood could be pink, brown or red in colour.
  4.         Smelly urine: Foul-smelling urine is caused due to the infection in the kidney or urinary tract caused due to kidney stone.
  5.        Feeling full bladder: Another symptom of kidney stone is when you are unable to urinate and always feels like your bladder is full. This happens when the stones cause blockage in the flow of urine enabling it to pass through.
  6.          Nausea, vomiting, fever, chills: The other small signs of kidney stone also include feeling nauseated, vomiting, fever followed by chills also relate to kidney or urinary tract infections.

 

Symptoms according to gender

Symptoms and warning signs differ from person to person because of age, gender and different urinary tract in all.

 

Men: In men, kidney stones pain usually start from groin, abdomen or lower back with gastric uneasiness.

 

Women: In women, kidney stone pain could be related to like menstrual pain, itching sensation in the vulva and discharge too.

 

Children: In children, the kidney stone can cause restlessness, blood in urine and change in urine colour and frequency.
