Through the years, a number of products have been recalled at various times due to safety concerns and hazards. It seems that more and more are recalled with each passing year. Safety concerns can range from choking hazards to harmful ingestion. Unfortunately, many of these recalls are a result from the wrongful death of a person. A lawyer may be required in such cases, and from Provo, Utah to the East Coast, recalls have to be taken seriously.

The Water Wiggle

Several toys intended for children have been recalled through the years. The risks associated with toys have to be carefully monitored due to the lack of caution children may have. Water toys have to be monitored especially closely due to the risk of drowning and other water-associated injuries. One toy that was famously recalled was the Water Wiggle. This was a water toy that connected to the end of a hose. When the water was turned on, it would shoot out of one end of the hose, causing the toy and the hose to fly around like crazy.

Unfortunately, the toy resulted in a wrongful death, causing many a lawyer from Provo to the Atlantic to look at toys more carefully. The website Retroland describes two incidents that occurred during the 1970’s, in which two children drowned as a result of removing a piece of the toy and putting a metal connector in their mouths. Incidents like these still occur to this day, and the Water wiggle serves as a reminder that instructions need to be read carefully.

Staying Safe

A wrongful death is something nobody needs to experience. By consulting a lawyer, one can find out plenty of information on different types of recalls. Whether in Utah or another state, recalls occur frequently and one must always be aware of different products in order to stay safe.
