Water tank cleaning is a service that should be done periodically both for healthy water usage and consumption and with legal circulars.
According to the 2007-67 circular, water tanks should be cleaned periodically every 6 months and thereafter.
Water tanks are classified as concrete, plastic and stainless. Regardless of its nature, shape and intended use, every water tank can be cleaned and disinfected.
Water tank cleaning service should be done to organizations that have expertise, authority and quality certificates.
Occupational safety documents, OHS and physician contracts, ISO 9001 documents, authorization documents must be requested.
On the other hand, porter examination records, OHS certificates, hygiene and professional qualification documents should be questioned.
How to clean the water tank?
1. Before starting the cleaning process, lighting equipment will be installed for the warehouse and its surroundings, and necessary safety precautions will be taken by the disinfected staff.
2. Disinfected personnel wearing disposable hygiene clothes will enter the warehouse with appropriate materials, and physical cleaning (such as mud, slime, sand, construction wastes, etc.) will be taken out of the warehouse.
3. All surfaces of the tank will be cleaned by brushing with 150 Bar pressure water compressor.
4. All surfaces of the warehouse will be disinfected with disinfectants and chemicals that can be mixed with drinking and utility water approved by the Ministry of Health.
5. After the disinfection process is finished, all surfaces of the tank will be rinsed again and no disinfectant residue will be left.
6. The submersible pump used during these services must have a traction capacity of 0.2 mm to the ground. This is very important for draining dirty water out of the tank.
7. After the service, the running parts of the warehouse are checked and delivered to healthy use.
8. After the cleaning and disinfection process of the warehouse is completed, the Customer Information Form / Warehouse Cleaning Report will be signed and delivered to the authorities about the physical condition of the warehouse and the required operations. Also, the pictures of the institution before and after the cleaning must be delivered to the authority of the service provider.
