The Nissan Juke is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by Nissan since 2010 and still in production. The Juke was first introduced as the Nissan Qazana concept at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show and commenced its production in 2010 at the Nissan Motor Manufacturing Ltd plant in Sunderland, UK. The Nissan's Juke was named after the sports word "juke," meaning "to make a sham move" or "change directions demonstrating agility." Its unusual design and energetic engine options introduced fresh market ideas.

First Generation

The first generation Juke F15 arrived in stores in September 2010 and was built on Nissan’s B-Platform. The Juke's exterior features an unusual design with L-shaped lamps, initially thought to be headlights, instead being turn signals and position lights. Its hatchback-inspired body has a sloppy roofline and spoiler. The center console, resembling a motorcycle gas tank, houses the gear shifter, while the instrument cluster features a speedometer, tachometer, and a digital display for fuel efficiency. The Juke has five seats, a small cargo area (297-liters), and additional storage beneath the floor front-wheel-drive models.

The Juke's center console houses the radio and optional I-CON control, while standard features include iPod, rear-view camera, USB, NissanConnect GPS navigation, and Bluetooth. All Juke models, except base models, are equipped with Nissan's Integrated Control System (I-CON), which manages the vehicle's drive mode and climate control.

The Juke is available in front or all-wheel-drive systems with engines supplied by either Nissan or Renault. The Juke was equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine, optional 1.6-liter, MR16DDT, and K9K diesel engines, and was mated with a 5-speed manual, 5-speed automatic, or 6-speed manual Xtronic CVT.

2012 (Juke R)

In 2012, Nissan unveiled the JUKE-R concept car in Dubai, which sparked interest and led to a limited production of five units, despite initial plans for 17-23. The Juke-R is a modified Juke with Nissan GT-R engine, capable of 0-100 kph in 3.0 secs and 273 kph, and boasts 545 hp.

2013 (Juke Nismo)

In 2013, Nissan introduced the NISMO Juke, featuring interior modifications, bumpers, suspensions, 18-inch wheels, engine tuning, and a "torque vectoring" option. The Juke NISMO base model features a turbocharged 1.6-liter DIG-T inline-4 petrol engine with 197 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The Juke Nismo RS, a high-end vehicle, boasts enhanced standard equipment like Recaro front seats and carbon fiber, and an upgraded engine with 215 hp and 210 lb-ft.

Second Generation – Present

Nissan unveiled the second-generation Juke F16 in September 2019 and production began in October 2019. The release features a larger CMF-B platform with high-strength steel for improved performance, stability, handling, and cornering capabilities, while being 23 kg lighter than the previous model.

The Juke F16 boasts improved rear-seat knee room, headroom, and boot capacity, with a 'floating' central display, a less cluttered console, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It also comes with Bose Personal Plus sound system, Nissan Connect infotainment system, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, optional wireless hotspot, TomTom maps, and Live Traffic.

The J16 Juke, launched in December 2021, features a turbocharged 1.0-liter inline-3 petrol engine with 115 hp, available in front-wheel-drive versions with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
