A cell phone is locked in order to prevent its use from user of any other country or any other provider. These settings are being implemented by the original provider only. This lock is normally called as the “subsidy lock”, “SIM lock” and “network lock”. Most network provider companies do this because of the financial profit intended when they sell their network facilities with cellphone handsets. v Before entering any value in the unlock code, go through IMEI number of the mobile phone. IMEI number can be recognized by dialing *#06#. The network and country of the phone must be selected in which it was earlier registered originally. v If an error prevails in the entered code, do not keep on entering the codes repeatedly since you have a limited number of trials for entering the codes.

v Since blackberry phone have only 10 tries to input the unlock code, it is advised that you should not waste it as after 10 attempts the handset will be permanently locked and in that scenario you will be not able to unlock handset.

v Various steps to unlock blackberry mobile phone are given as follows:-

v First of all, you need to enter any SIM card of the country where the mobile phone was originally bought or say registered.

v Make sure than your phone has the battery and switch on the mobile phone once.

v If you have set a pin code for your SIM card, enter it and unlock the phone.

v Most probably, your phone will show a message “Invalid SIM card”.

v After this, select the option “Turn wireless off”.

v Then you can proceed further with the “settings” menu in your phone.

v Go to the “Advanced options” and then move forward to the SIM card.

v Type alt-MEPT by holding the ALT-key and besides this type the letter MEPT with multi tap, for example.- type hold ALT, type {M}{ER}{OP}{OP}{TY}

v When on your mobile screen appears “Enter network MEPT code”.

v Enter the 16 digit number available with you for your phone. Make sure you have entered the accurate number without any single mistake.

v Now press enter.

v Now just reset the phone by taking out the battery and hen inserting it again in your phone.

v Switch on your phone and your phone will be unlocked.
