International investment is a game changer in many ways. There many business ideas that one comes up with and to realize them they need to explore newer shores. Many countries today provide ample opportunities for such innovative ideas to breed in their country. USA became the hub for innovative thoughts because of its immigration procedures. One such example is the BOSE Company, whose founder relocated to USA and set-up BOSE Company there to provide most innovative sound systems to the world.

UK in the same mode has come up with its own immigration program to invite the innovative thinkers to open their business in UK through its UK Start-up Visa Program. Such innovative thinkers will have to come-up with a business idea that is internationally scalable in nature. The business plan prepared should prove that the plan provided is both viable and innovative in nature. To qualify for this the innovator need to earn a letter or support from an endorsing body in UK. To qualify under this program, the investor cannot be part of Switzerland and the European Economic Area.

Eligibility criteria for UK Start-up program –

i.                     The business idea should be assessed by an approved body. Endorsing bodies are usually those business houses which are successful in England and understand the process of business there. Based on the kind of innovative idea, the innovator will have to approach business organization that is part of the same industry. Such endorsing business organization will provide endorsement letter favoring the business idea.

ii.                   The innovator should be 18 years and above to qualify for the program

iii.                  The innovator will need to provide his English language test results conducted by one of the authorized agents

iv.                 The businessman will need to produce bank documents that indicate his economic stand-off to support self and family when in UK to set up the business there.

It takes 3 months to get the visa while in 3 weeks the decision will be told to the applicant.

There is certain fee that needs to be paid for the processing, beyond which nothing else is demanded from the investor.

This visa is valid for a period of 2 years. Beyond that, the innovator needs to shift to other immigration visa programs like UK investor visa program to extend their stay.

During the 2 years, the innovator will need to prove his credibility and also the business idea’s credibility. The innovator will need to provide the right documents as would be required.

With this visa, the businessman can bring his family members with him. He can switch to other visas programs as would be required. The innovator can take up jobs outside his business too under this visa program.

However, the businessman cannot obtain or seek public funds with this visa.

This is not a permanent residency visa. This is a temporary visa and the investor will be able to permanently live in Canada, only after he switches to other immigration program.

It is required that these programs are taken care by partnering with the right international investment firm who is well experienced in the field. Such an international investment immigration agent will provide the right guidance for the innovator. They will have connections with the endorsing firm from who they will be able to obtain the mandatory endorsement letter. They will also be able to guide the businessman about the right place where the business idea can flourish.

There could be many investment agents, however, there will be certain immigration agents who are certified and can deftly take up any kind of investment immigration projects. UK Start-up visa is one of its kind in the whole of European Investment Immigration Programs
