Types of formwork systems and their classification
by Derrick Corea Technosoft Innovations, IncFormwork for the concrete ladder, as well as molds for
casting other structural elements, are classified according to various
characteristics and parameters:
Removable and non-removable changes differ depending on the
bend settings.
Removable type modifications have been generalized, both in
the construction sector and in the construction of low-rise housing.
Non-removable modifications are generally used in the construction of large
industrial plants, where they then fulfill a protective function.
In accordance with the purpose, the formwork is divided into
several forms: walls, floors, columns, elevator shafts, foundations, etc.
Depending on the materials used, the formwork systems can be
made of wood, metal and polymer.
The most common in individual construction received a wooden
formwork .
Such constructions can be constructed both with the use of
specially acquired materials for this laminated plywood, and from old unwanted
planks.
As a general rule, all wood constructions are removable,
because if you leave the wood on already poured structural elements, the rot
will start over time and the wood will collapse.
The metal formwork can be both removable and non-separable .
These structures are made of corrosion-resistant metals and their alloys.
The price of these forms is much higher than that of wooden
analogues, which, incidentally, is justified by the durability and simplicity
of their operation.
Polymer formwork - this is a relatively new technology in
which non-removable systems are manufactured for use in the construction of
installations under the most adverse weather conditions.
Most often, for the production of such forms, the
polystyrene used was characterized by its low weight and its resistance to
excessive moisture. By the way, the thermal insulation formwork used for winter
concreting is made of polystyrene.
Important: The fixing of the formwork for solid concrete
must be carried out professionally and with extreme care. Due to the
imprecision of the system assembly, gaps and irregularities may form, which
will negatively affect the quality of the finished concrete product. You will
then have to cut the concrete with diamond circles.
Construction features
Industrial formwork systems used in wall construction can be
of three types:
Modification of the frame including frame protectors,
retaining elements and fasteners. At the heart of the protective screens used,
reinforced ribs with metal structure.
On the formwork of the photo frame
A Slab Formwork is mounted directly on the support frame, which forms and maintains the mortar.
Special frames of the hollow profile are used to prevent
deformation of the ends during the dismantling of the shape. The use of metal
structural elements not only increases the strength of the formwork to
mechanical stresses, but also reduces the time required for installation work.
Beam formwork is a structure based on beams, plates,
fasteners, spacers and a bolt. The design can be realized using wood with
plastic or metal points and fasteners.
The systems are manufactured on an industrial scale and, as
a result, the standard beam sizes are standardized to ensure
interchangeability.
