Travel Back in Time Inside Art Galleries in St. Petersburg

When it comes to art and museums, St Petersburg has no curtailment of opportunities. If you're in for an inside scoop and collectibles from the royal family, then the Hermitage is a must-visit. The museum is so extensive that you can get lost inside it together. However, if you're a purist who wants to explore  Russian art specifically, then head on over to the Russian Museum.  You can get a private historical tour on the history of Russian art. During peak season, art galleries become high in demand and museums get a little too crowded.

For a more intimate experience, try visiting in the evenings when the large tour groups have gone home. Some museums in Russia also have "late days" when the museums are open late into the evening. Don't miss out on that opportunity.

Walkthrough the Garden of Aptekarsky Ogorod

This is the oldest botanical garden in all of Russia. The Aptekarsky means apothecary in Russian. Now, the garden belongs to Moscow State University. Aptekarsky Ogorod is one of the revamped gardens of Moscow.  Locals say it is the best one in town and fondly refer to it as the "chief source of flower power."

The garden was established in 1706 as a recreational park with a multitude of different ornamental flowers and plants. But now, the garden's primary purpose is to grow herbs and medicinal plants, which is why it's been nicknamed the pharmacy garden.

Aside from admiring the different types of foliage in the Aptekarsky Ogorod, visitors from all over the world visit the Aptekarsky Ogorod for concerts, craft fair and fashion shows. If you're lucky, you might catch a symphony orchestra playing at night.
