The right-wing, for example, can make or break your Halloween costume. What would a clown or Dora the Explorer be without red curls? Even though makeup is crucial, contact lenses are a vital component of many outfits.

While novelty lenses can make you look like something spooky, a vampire or skeleton, temporary grey or green contacts can improve a simple cat costume. However, be aware that you should proceed cautiously before temporarily upgrading your eyes.

Our expert revealed that purchasing a pair of lenses without a prescription online or in a random store may be the scariest Halloween costume accessory.

What are contact lenses?

Thin plastic or glass lenses called contacts can be used to correct vision by covering the eye's cornea. Additional information is provided on the types of contacts offered, how to order lenses, and who should or shouldn't wear contacts.

The eye's cornea is covered by a thin plastic or glass lens called a contact lens to treat vision issues like myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism. These expensive lenses offer more than just style; they also have practical uses.

The two main categories of contact lenses are rigid gas permeable hard lenses and soft lenses. Both have unique advantages; some even have bifocals, ultraviolet protection, or colored tints.

What are novelty contact lenses?

The simple part of getting colored lenses from your neighborhood eye doctor is getting novelty lenses with a cat or vampire-like eyes. According to Hamada, the FDA typically does not regulate or approve lenses that cover more than just the iris. Additionally, getting a prescription from a doctor is more complicated.

Do your research, and once you think you've found some that are secure, get a gut check from your eye doctor before making a purchase, this is Hamada's best advice. Anything used close to your eyes needs to be FDA-approved and medically safe. The contacts are being sold illegally in stores that don't require a prescription.

According to the FDA, a prescription is required if you want to purchase novelty lenses. Never purchase contact lenses from a street vendor, a store selling beauty supplies, a flea market, a store selling novelty items or Halloween items, or unidentified online sellers.

They might be tainted or fake, making them unsafe for use. So, if you can get your hands on the right lenses, they will fit more comfortably and securely than traditional lenses.

Know where you should buy novelty contact lenses?

So, if you are thinking of buying novelty contact lenses, then buy them from Sclera Lenses. Wearing any of these sclera contact lenses is comfortable. These lenses are well-hydrated, which contributes to their high level of comfort. Additionally, the sclera lens fitting is unmatched in its quality. These lenses are more comfortable than others because they cover your cornea entirely without making you feel uncomfortable.

They are premium contacts with a longer shelf life than other brands. However, only use sclera contact lenses as instructed on the packaging. But be aware that wearing sclera contacts for an extended period is never advised.
