Trends Are Like Waves - Only Good For Business

by Anna Rose Blogger

Trends come and go. One day, you're wearing your dad's shirt, the next day you're sporting a skinny tie. Trends come and go for a reason. Let's face it: most of us do not know the origins of each and every trend. If only we were privy to the "tracing" methods used by fashion experts to trace the latest fashion trends.

Trends Are Like Waves - Only Good For Business

Trends are really rooted in society. Fashion is art, and while fashion itself is subjective, one thing that is not subject to fashion is clothing. Trends are products of the changing tastes of the masses. The changing tastes of the masses are born out of social changes and economic conditions. Trends in fashion are affected by everything from politics to religion to entertainment, from the youth to the elderly.

Trends can begin in any culture, but they tend to be most prominent in Western countries, like America and the UK. This may seem odd, given that clothing design has always been localized in those countries. However, it has only been in recent decades that there has been a widespread global trend towards fashion. As technology advances, these trends continue to spread both across national boundaries and across cultural divides.

So why do some fashion "experts" insist that Trends are inevitable? It seems that in order to see any sort of trend, you have to look at it longingly. Trends are like waves. Trends come and go, and for each wave there are several smaller trends, until eventually there are big waves.

Fashion gurus tell us that if you want to keep up with fashion trends, you have to spend loads of time and money on new trends, because the old trends no longer work. How true this is anyone's guess. Trends, like everything else, are subject to change on a weekly basis.

Trends are here to stay. We just have to accept them as a fact of life. One thing is for sure; if you want to look good, if you want to feel good, if you want to succeed in the world of fashion, you have to pay attention to the latest trends. Trends have become an indispensable part of our society. Like all things in this world, fashion trends are both good and bad.

The bad news is that as soon as one fashion trend dies out, it becomes a 'star' which is imitated by thousands of people who try to copy its 'success'. As soon as one trend is over, another comes in its place. It seems as though trends never cease.

So what does this mean to us? In reality, it means that the fashion world is ruled by trends, but the fashion gurus know better than anyone else how to survive in the long term. Trends are good, they create excitement in the marketplace and sell lots of products. But the gurus know that in order to do well in the long run, a fad fashion is not the way to go.
