Traffic Exchange Alternative
I have been using traffic exchanges for over 10 years and had great success with them in the early years, but the environment keeps shifting toward more personal methods for making initial contact. They have evolved so far toward focusing on traffic generation, instead of producing desired actions like in the old days.That led me to do some comparison that has me using them less than before and here's why. With a traffic exchange most people just push for more traffic with contests and rewards to encourage mad clicking in the hundreds. With that goal in mind, who could possibly be truly considering what is offered on each page? I tried a new exchange just last week and generated 1,000 views of a compelling splash page that resulted in ZERO click thrus, not one person did anything but let the timer run out and click to the next page.
Actually I was still happy, because my new sponsor paid me 600 credits at DownlineRefs for being his referral at the traffic exchange. Then I added another 400 credits from clicking ads with much less effort than I extended to get the same number of credits from the traffic exchange, so I had 1,000 credits for each.
The end result was, the traffic exchange credits produced 1,000 visitors to my website with no further action and the 1,000 credits at DownlineRefs produced a CUSTOMER that completed the enrollment form at my website and sent me proof. That customer allowed me to give away another 50 free bids for Zeekler and I got paid again. It also allowed me to start a dialog with my sponsor so I could help him get more referrals and foster further interaction. I just started this strategy, but I have picked up 3 new customers this month already. Now I set up a new website at http://GetYoursFree.com to kick it into high gear, so lets see what happens.

Like you Warren; I used traffic exchanges extensively when I first got online, but as of late, I use mostly social media for generating relationships. Now whether I never used the traffic exchanges to their full potential or not, I found that I did not generate many leads or clients that would generate income.
I found that most people were clicking just to get the credits to show their sites, they generally have multiple tabs open and just go from one to the other as the timer expires.
