Top 3 Winter Cleaning Chores

by Ana Cole Freelancer

Every season brings up its own, different cleaning tasks and winter is no exception. Unfortunately, this cold season isn't only about holidays and snow. However, it is less active than the others. The key point here is to prepare and organise, while maintaining your daily cleaning routine. Read below and find out which are the top 3 winter cleaning chores.

1.Computer

Since you spend more time at home, due to the cold weather, it will be a good idea to take care of your computer. This cleaning procedure can be preformed by anyone, it doesn't necessary require professional help. In order to do it by yourself, you will need a screwdriver, can of compressed air and a cloth. Start by switching the device off and unplugging all cables. Use the screwdriver to remove the back panel. Take the canned compressed air and blow out all dirt particles. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it gently, so that all debris will fall out, from underneath the keys. In case you feel this isn't enough to get it clean, don't forget you also have compressed air to work with. Wipe the keyboard, the mouse and the outside of your computer with a slightly dampened cloth and you are done. As you can now see for yourself, cleaning your computer isn't something you have to spend money on.

2.Furnace

Change or clean the filters of your furnace, whatever is required in your case, to make sure there are less dirt debris in the air. Unlike computer cleaning, this is a procedure, where you can benefit from some professional advice, as it is more complicated. Winter is the season when furnaces are used all the time, so you have absolutely no excuse to neglect them, especially if you have a fireplace in your home. Talking about fireplaces, have you cleaned yours recently? If not, better do it now, no matter it's a domestic task, that should be on your summer cleaning checklist. You know what they say, better late than sorry. And don't forget to vacuum all vents, while vacuuming the floor

3.Mattresses

Mattress cleaning is a cleaning chore, preformed twice a year – summer and winter. This will ensure, dust and mites are kept under control, which has a direct influence on your health. Doing it, is really worth the effort. Cleaning your mattress is an easy procedure, so you have absolutely no excuse to skip it. Experts from Brixton cleaners recommend to execute it with the help of your vacuum cleaner. Start from the top, making your way to the bottom part of the mattress, then place it away and clean the box springs. Bed sheets are also responsible for having a spotless mattress, so change them regularly and wash them in hot water.

Now you are aware of the three most important cleaning chores, that should be present in your winter checklist.

Ana I think I would rather have a root canal done rather than clean. I especially hate to dust. Thanks for the reminders of these 3 things that should be cleaned and are easy to clean. Cindy

Thank you for the positive feedback Cindy :) To share a secret with you, I also hate dusting, but I like to have my home clean and organised accordingly to every season.

I won't tell a sole your secret.... if only I had that DRIVE as you do to have a clean home. I share my home with MANY formerly unwanted and unloved animals until they came here. Cleaning is a full time job with all of those little darling. But I admire anyone who has a clean house... I keep saying ONE DAY... and then poof another critters shows up that needs care

How come that your animals are unwanted ? I know a thing about god's creatures - they have a sense for people who care and only come to such :) Thank you for the kind compliments, my home is really clean, but I don't have any pets, nor kids for now, so it's an easy job so far :)
