Too many apps on your phone? Here's what you can do

by Umar Bajwa Lead the world

When you purchase a Smartphone, in its initial days, it would run really smooth and would be able to perform all of the operations pretty quickly. However, after a few days, you must have noticed that it starts lagging a bit. This is especially true for mid-range and budget Smartphones. This can be extremely frustrating, especially during the times when you want your phone to operate well. A general lag and slowing down of the phone is an indication that the phone has been in use for quite some time now and that has affected its performance.

Less amount of RAM and too many apps installed on the phone is the main cause. However, there are a number of ways in which you can fix this issue. Listed below are a few of them.

Delete Unwanted Apps

Think of all the apps that you installed months ago but do not even look at now. Even though you are using the app, they are consuming a certain amount of space and even that can slow down your phone. The wise decision would be to sort them out. Sit with your phone and then go through each page and folder of your phone. You would actually be surprised with the number of apps that you have on your phone. Delete the ones that you do not use anymore or the ones that you feel aren’t of much use.

Install a Multi-Purpose App

Multi-purpose apps are rather beneficial as they help in saving up a lot of space. There are several popular apps that offer attractive coupons like the Tapzo app coupons, coupons for high-end brands etc. This means that now you won’t have to install multiple apps for different things. The best app would include a large variety of offers along with several participating retailers. Therefore, choose wisely.

Create Folders

If you haven’t been storing your apps in a folder together, you are doing it wrong. With folders, it becomes easier to store the apps rather than them being scattered all over the place. Also, creating folders is super easy on all operating systems be it Android or iOS. You can also name the folders for your convenience. For instance, you can drag all of the social media apps into a folder and name it Social Media Accounts or something like that. Similarly, all of the photography and editing apps can be grouped together under Photography. Name it according to your preference.

Know the Folder Cap

Now just because you have created a folder, it doesn’t in any way mean that you can stuff them up with apps. There is a certain impressive limit upon the number of apps that can be contained in the iOS, and the Android folders. But that doesn’t mean that you can install as many apps as you want. That would slow the phone too. Hence, what you can do is delete an existing app when you install a new one of the similar kind. For instance, you might have downloaded a news app while there are 8 news apps already on the phone. In such situations, make it a point to delete an existing one.

By following all of the above-mentioned steps, you would be able to free up a lot of space on your phone and your phone would definitely function smoothly thereafter.
