TipsPortal Top Picks for UCL Match Day 5

by Ives Garcia TipsPortal.com Football Punter
The Champions League returns to action this week as we head into Matchday 5. Here are our top picks.

Man City vs Shakhtar Donetsk

All-City need to confirm top spot in their group is a home win against Shakhtar Donetsk, and we think that they should do it with ease, having won 5 of their last 6 against the Ukrainians in the last 2 years. The last 3 have been by an aggregate score of 12-0 and considering that Pep Guardiola’s men have banged in 26 goals in their last 6 home games, this could end in misery for the visitors.

TIP: Man City -2 on the Asian Handicap

Tottenham vs Olympiacos

Jose Mourinho will be eagerly anticipating his home debut as Tottenham face an Olympiacos side that are terrible travelers. The Greek side did come back from 2-0 down to draw Spurs in Athens in the reverse fixture but away from home, they have lost their last 6 in this competition. Spurs banged in 9 goals against Red Star Belgrade in their last 2 meetings, so they should be good enough for a 2-goal win or better.

TIP: Tottenham -1.75 on the Asian Handicap

Real Madrid vs PSG

PSG are already through but could put the hosts in trouble if they can get 3 points at the Bernabeu. Madrid are a tough side to beat at home though and will be out for revenge after their 3-0 loss in Paris in the reverse fixture. There is an embarrassment of attacking riches on display here between the 2 sides and without a doubt, both teams should get on the score sheet.

TIP: Both Teams To Score – Yes

Valencia vs Chelsea

Things are looking tight in Group H, with Ajax, Chelsea and Valencia all on 7 points each. Both teams have been pretty poor defensively, with Valencia keeping just 1 clean sheet in their last 10 games in all competitions while Chelsea have 1 in their last 10 away competitive fixtures. Scoring goals has not been a problem for both teams though, and we should see goals at both ends of the pitch.

TIP: Both Teams To Score – Yes

Genk vs RB Salzburg

Salzburg are playing catch up in Group E and they are currently in 3rd and 4 points behind Napoli, who will travel to Anfield to play Liverpool. Fortunately for them, they will be facing a Genk side who look out of their depth at this level. The reverse fixture saw Salzburg put 6 past Thursday’s hosts, so we think the visitors should claim the 3 points here.

TIP: RB Salzburg -1 on the Asian Handicap
