Tips to Mix eLearning and Instructor-Led Training

by Richa Jha Asistent Manager

A latest trend that corporate educators are following for success, is mixing eLearning with instructor-led training. They are willing to continuously improve their programs to hit an ‘optimal mark’.

Today, the scenario is changing fast for mock test portals. And, those training programs that enable participants to meet their training goals within a budget, are deemed to be the best.

Here are some tips to help you mix eLearning with Instructor-led training. Use these to implement in your organization and improve efficiency.

Optimize Support for All Learners

Some learners prefer autonomy while others like hands-on experience.eLearning needs to focus on giving support to all.

Specialized instructions can be provided by instructors in the dual learning options on an online exam website.

For example, a visual student could study through videos or even VR simulations. An auditory student could hear tapings of lectures for NEET UG or latest gk questions. And, finally the instructor led training can help traditional users of mock exam papers.

Give Options to Students with Self- Assessments

Give more control to students over education. Provide them with self-assessments. For every mock test or elearning video, give them choices to meet their goals.

Based on self-assessments and preferences, and along with instructor guidance, students can choose the following options:

-          -  In-class instruction

-          - Workshops

-          - Video lectures

-          - Podcasts

-          - Online learning and free practice tests

Assign eLearning Materials Prior to Holding a Class

Another model is to tell students to consume eLearning material before entering the classroom.

They may be asked to work on online exam website in worksheets, watch videos, or practicemock exam papers. Then, the students can enter class to receive extra knowledge and engage in discussion.

Use E-Learning Tools Post-Class

Improvement in training effectiveness should always be a priority for every company. They can do so by creating long-term eLearning materials that can continue even after the course or on need-per-basis.

For example, instead of creating full length materials, an instructor can design mini-courses. These will cover important topics in a brief manner and contain end-chapter assignments and free practice tests

Update All Outdated Material

Sometimes due to a change in internet regulations or technology, a portion of course may need to be changed. Moreover, education is a field where instructional materials including mock exam papers should be updated regularly.

For instance, students opting for a mock test should be given add-on packs containing precise questions that have higher expectancy of coming in their examination. This will encourage more users to visit the online exam website.
