These sites could KILL you
More and more online Pharmacies are springing up and offering prescription drugs at low prices. Many people are blindly turning to these online pharmacies and if you are one of them you may be risking your life!
Some of these Pharmacies are being promoted on APSense. APsense members could be risking permanent injury or death by purchasing from them-even if they do display an "FDA Approved" Seal.
So let me tell you how you can protect yourself, it is a simple as listening to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacies
From their website:
"The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy is an impartial professional organization that supports the state boards of pharmacy in creating uniform regulations to protect public health. Founded in 1904, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) is the impartial professional organization that supports the state boards of pharmacy in protecting public health. NABP aims to ensure the public’s health and safety through its pharmacist license transfer and pharmacist competence assessment programs, as well as through its VIPPS, Vet-VIPPS, VAWD, and DMEPOS accreditation programs.
NABP’s member boards of pharmacy are grouped into eight districts that include all 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Australia, eight Canadian provinces, and New Zealand. The Association is governed by its Executive Committee, whose officers and members are elected during the Association’s Annual Meeting."
This organization evaluates online pharmacies and maintains a listing of Pharmacies that are not recommended due compliance issues either with the law or with patient health standards. In other words these online pharmacies cannot be trusted.
"Not Recommended Sites are those Internet drug outlets that appear to be out of compliance with state and federal laws or NABP patient safety and pharmacy practice standards. Ordering drugs from these Web sites puts you and your family at risk. NABP has reviewed over 8,000 sites and found 96% of those sites to be out of compliance."
You can check the listing here of not recommended sites.
So who can you trust? Look For the VIPPS Seal.
"To ensure public health, VIPPS accreditation requires an Internet pharmacy to comply with the licensing and survey requirements of its state and each state to which it dispenses pharmaceuticals. VIPPS-accredited pharmacies meet nationally endorsed standards of pharmacy practice, and they demonstrate compliance with standards of privacy and authentication and security of prescriptions, adhere to quality assurance policy, and provide meaningful consultation between patients and pharmacists.
An update if you order online for your pet meds. Look for the Vet VIPPS seal

Both seals WILL BE CLICKABLE taking to verified information for the site.

It is Shame Arthur because you would think people would take an interest in the subject, but there are those promoting these phamacies right here on APSense. But you like I, Have noticed this trend of just ignore the fact that scams are being openly promoted. These Pharmacies are clearly illegal and they are being openly promoted just look at all the 'articles' promoting medications that flood the Article directory daily and the proof is right there, that APSense is being used for illegal purp

Hi, Cheryl. Lke you I am astounded by the degree of apathy subjects in Apsense tend to generate. This article title should have attracted a lot of interest AND a lot of informed comment and counter comment (if any such is possible). I am very saddened to see that the majority opinion at Apsense is that a single "Ooh lovely" comment is all that any subject, no matter how vital, merits. Online fake pharmacies are life threatening. Even those sites that are approved are life threatening if there is

There is a separate set of rules for natural herbs, Supplements and Holistic 'treatments'. They cannot be promoted as medical treatments and make claims of curing or treating ailments. Check on the FDA website for that Roosevelt.

As always a very informative and timely post. What about natural herbs and anti-oxidants, such as in tea, coffee or pill form? Are these safe to use and promote?

If you are ordering online for your pets, you run the same risks as ordering online for yourself. Look for the Vet-VIPPS site when ordering prescriptions for your pets.

Hopefully they will be charged with First Degree and Murder and prosecuted Malok. The counterfeit/Contaminated drugs are a very dangerous Risk. These things can kill you and there have already been deaths traced back to these online 'pharmacies'.

Amazing how only a handful of people are concerned about something that can kill them. Guess most don't value their lives.

Phippe your comment has nothing to do with the topic at hand so it was removed. No one is talking about fly by night get rich quick websites some jackass put together in their basement. We are talking about the illegal sale of Prescription drugs through rogue online pharmacy websites so take the scam biz op questions somewhere else.

They have a public listing of over 8000 rogue sites in their database. All you have to do is look, if it is on the list it is a rogue site and should not be trusted. If it is not on the Not recommended list, see if it has the VIPPS seal if it doesn't it has not been evaluated. It is just that simple and no need for any confusion. If someone doesn't want to take the time to check then they are playing Russian Roulette with their lives.

Thank you for this informative article. I'm having all sorts of scams about "pharmacy products" in my email. However I tend to be an old fashioned guy that buys only onsite e.g Pharmacies.

A very good point Arthur and that is why the NABP Evaluates these sites. It' very telling that over 8000 online Pharmacies were evaluated and only 4% all of which are websites for recognized brick and mortar pharmacies were found to be in compliance with regulation and safety standards.

Online pharmacies? NO SUCH THING!
The sites being spoken of in this article make no pretence of employing fully qualified pharmacists on their staff. Every legitimate pharmacy should have a potential prescription review to ensure that doctors have not over-prescribed medicines or drugs.
If patients requested generic drugs from their doctors instead of accepting prescriptions for expensive branded drugs, they would cut their expenses dramatically.

I tend to be paranoid about these seals we see online, I mean, can't just about anything be hacked? Also, it's so easy to copy the image and post it on another page, I guess you would say to not just see the image but click on it? What do you recommend to make sure we play it safe ?

That is the safest way, and almost every recognized brick and mortar pharmacy now has an online order option though a VIPPS accredited website.

Yes and scammers are cashing in on that fact. You may be buying contaminated drugs, drugs with no dosage controls, placebos or even the wrong drugs any of which could cause your death.
